[QUOTE=Schantin;29987388]Well, my garage isn't as nice as some of these others, but it works for me. My only wish would be for taller ceilings so I could install a lift.

What`s the story with the scale?

If that scale was mine, it would be in my Ensuite

Just kidding. I weigh myself on a regular basis. My weight has been consistently the same for years.

I put on some weight this winter

I`m 5`-9", and I pretty much stay between 180-185lbs most of the year, but this winter I put on a few pounds. I was at 191 this morning.
That will all change once the summer gets here. I will be more active in the summer months and some of the winter pounds (fat) will come off....I hope

I can lose weight easy, I used to do strength training (low reps with heavy weight) up until a couple of years ago, so I have a high metabolism.

Little progress on this front - getting some doors installed this week.

Hard to tell from pics but they're both solid charcoal color - no windows. They'll be done on Wednesday with some metal dark trim around the frames. Then I've got a bigger project on my hands and need to have some drainage issues fixed, and then the wiring finished, lighting installed.

Getting there, but sometime this year i'll have the rebuilt home for the vehicles.

It's private. All the cars inside are my neighbors personal cars.

Got a quote for some work to transform the garage. Debating between doing swisstrax vs. racedeck vs. epoxy. My concern with epoxy has always been snow/ice in the winters causing it to be slippery even with texture put into it, not to mention stickiness in the summer.

I used Racedeck in SW MO home....no snow so perfect floor for that climate. House in Chicago suburb used epoxy ("GarageExperts") due to crappy winters. After 2 winters, floor perfect. They weren't cheap, but outstanding work.

So I've decided on ProSlat for the walls in my garage...anyone know what other accessories are compatible with them?

I did full broadcast flakes on my epoxy floors because it will be grippy even in full standing water.

It's a lot more expensive, but worth it IMO. It also gives it an awesome textured look and feel.

Now I guess I'm deciding between swisstrax, racedeck, weathertech tech floor, and epoxy.

Hmm. What is a garage? Not very common in Northwest Seattle.

That's interesting... so you don't think racedeck would be good for Chicagoland? I figured the winters would make epoxy really slippery.

Can't comment on the floor, but $4,200 for drywall and paint work.
Yeah, the mud was slopped up on the original install, but WTF is going to be done for $3,000 in labor plus $1,200 in material? Are they ripping it out and replacing?

You are getting the 2-BMW (in the driveway) price my man.

Yeah I thought that was pretty high as well.... He mentioned needing to go through and sanding the entire garage. Seems like the skim coating and sanding alone is $2,200 in labor while painting labor is $800. I'll have to get additional quotes.

The flooring seems reasonable. ~$3,100 for the Swisstrax is roughly what I calculated for 635 sqft, and he's charging $600 for labor.

The attached close-up shows texture, even though it looks / feels smooth, so not especially slippery. The Racedeck used for the area under the cars was the "Flo-through" tile which allowed water to pass through from a wet car, eliminating the puddles which would form on a solid tile. This was great in MO, but in Chicago the salt, sand, etc would require cleaning under tiles, which would be very difficult. I guess solid tiles could eliminate this, but it would eliminate the benefit of the Flo through tiles.

This is 100% what I wondered about flow thru. Keeps it away from me, but I am that guy that sweeps out my garage every month at least and I wondered "Where would all this go with decking" I'd be that guy pulling it up to clean - defeating the purpose. I love the look, but not for me with DD cars in it for sure.
