I still have my e46 330iZHP 6-spd manual. The steering feel is something special compared to my M240i which offers no feel.

Mine was a convertible with sport suspension and it was a blast to drive

I sold it to get my M2 and once in a while I miss having it

My opinion on the G87 is its a good looking car, it will turns heads on the streets, i just hate the big middle exposed space in the front bumber, i think stone chips will damage something inside after driving it for period of time.

Regarding the handling, some reviewers said it handles better than the G80 like Rokenr, some didn’t like straight pipes guys, i can’t say my opinion until i drive one.

I was hoping that there will be a competition model but i read in some car websites that probably there will be only a CS model in the future.

Anyway, congrats to the people who bought it, I believe its a great M car just try to get it in black it will be sexier

Are you sure you drove a G87? Because your short drive is the exact opposite of what everyone else says.

Why should we lend any credence to your claim?
The steering can feel twitchy at first in comfort because comfort mode is minimal effort, and the front end is very direct. In sport mode, it isn't as "twitchy" because it requires more effort to move the wheel.

I don't view this as a negative, but it also is reflective of his 5min of seat time and not being able to get used to it.

Also, saying the chassis is setup "softly" is just downright weird. The car is just wayyy better damped with an adjustable system than the F87's.

Gotta love this forum

Throttle House review: OMG it’s SOOOOOOOOOO refreshing to hear someone tell it like it is, that’s why I LOVE those guys! They’re not afraid to hold back and do REAL WORLD testing we’re all dying to know about like the UBER important 4th gear pull at 30mph!

Just about EVERY other review of the G87 that doesn’t bash it and actually is a very positive one: OMG, (insert name here) must be on BMW’s payroll or something because no way this is real!

Bingo. Can't wait until they slinter off back to whatever part of this forum they came from.

Or when they find out that with the levels of traction control, forged wheels and a slight diet this car will be able to handle whatever way you like with a huge power and stability advantage.
They will most likely double down and focus on the aesthetics.

For some, maybe…. But quite a few people literally changed their order from manual to automatic based on TH review. That’s serious stuff. I thought both reviews were really interesting. Doug was def on his happy pills, easy to criticize some of his comments (btw, did he point out that spec had the $10k carbon pack?) … but watching that plus the life of Joe guy take his delivery, it actually is starting to warm me up to the idea of ordering one (if the manual Z4 doesn’t happen next year)…. It’s still an ugly car in some ways, but I like some of the historic comparisons these guys and others have pointed out…

As noted earlier, Doug has been consistent in his reviews.

I’ve been watching Doug for a long time, he’s super quirky but honest (except when I totally disagree with him)

Yeah I'm on again/off again with him. Often unsubbing and resubbing, but I agree, he's honest and an enthusiast, even if he drives like a grandma.

I wish Matt Moran got more attention because he is a real enthusiast as well but his channel won't grow (as he admits) because he won't do the other "flashy" stuff other channels do. He will put the hammer down on a back road..., as he'll be doing in my car in June.

I like Doug's enthusiasm a lot. But his heading moving around like a bobble head tends to make me a touch nauseous at times.

Looking forward to AWD version of this car eventually.

No one is arguing about the perf of this car. It does have some great qualities as Dough points out. However, the car is extremely ugly. There is no way around it. I know this is subjective. Also, the car is extremely heavy…3-400 pounds more than the previous gen! That’s like having 2 adults sitting in the car with you at all times vs an F87…
The new Prius has a nicer design than this thing!

No it isn't.

And do some research before posting. Zero21 weighed it already. It's lighter than the official BMW stats indicate. And with forged wheels and a lithium battery it should be close to the weight of my F87, but with 90 more hp and adaptive suspension.

Get your facts straight.
