Maybe we’ll find the odd ball you are referring to! Hope they can see my thread and post there.

From where we stand, it’s us owners with our experience using the car every day listening to a different version posted by someone who has never seen it (T_U_D) and someone who has only seen someone else’s (you)…
Maybe a little more accusatory tone than I'd go with, but yeah, I agree. Actual owner evidence is that it is in the armrest.

Seems unlikely there would be variance in produced cars already, but I guess weirder things have happened.

I swear, BMW is always schizophrenic when it comes to charging, NFC, and digital keys. When I asked the Genius about Digital Keys, he sighed and rolled his eyes. Said something like "Digital Key is just weird, it's always weird."

They 100% should refund you for that. Talk to the GM or sales manager. Paying for something you don’t have, not cool. I work for the PDS and can say if you call BMW corp and complain (if the dealer won’t credit you) they will absolutely assist.

I have possibly seen more G87 M2s in person and at one time than probably anyone else within this forum. I was at the press launch prior to the press arriving this past March in Arizona. I do not care for the device therefore I advise my clients to avoid ordering it.

I can adamantly inform you that the device being installed underneath the armrest is an older design that has previously been used in other models. The latest design is the one installed in the cubby aft of the cupholders.

Hmm, SMH. It is a BMW corporate video and furthermore note the location. That is where it is located in a vast majority of our current models.

Edit, let us remember that the vast majority of our models are automatics. Sadly very few manuals remain.

The whole discussion is about manual cars…

I don’t care what the video shows! If I put the phone where the video indicates two things will happen:

1- my phone will be tilted and slide off, since it doesn’t fit there.
2- it will not charge because of point 1 and also because the charger is under the armrest!!!

The video is absolutely irrelevant to the discussion here, as are any comparisons with other automatic models…

That’s the point. We’re only talking about manuals here. We are well aware where the charging pad is for automatics. The manual indicate as much as well.

And I promise I’m not mad or trying to sound aggressive. LOL take it lightly.

This thread was originally about the lighting package and not the wireless charging option. It would be best if we relocated this conversation to the appropriate thread.

Got caught up in the wireless convo and totally forgot this was the lighting package thread

As a related aside, my CA confirmed my wireless charger removal request so it's now gone from my build officially, though garage doesn't reflect it (yet).

The reality is I simply do not care that much about the option and eventually lost interest in going round and round about the matter. I have repeatedly expressed my tremendous dislike for the option. I saw no further reason to run this into the ground nor to do it in an incorrect thread. I am done discussing it here.

Just catching up on this thread. I live in a total blackout area at night and the way BMW Headlights follow my path down the road is incredible. If anyone wants a video l’ll post one. The Auto High-Beams are the usual variety but the active turning with the road and the weak Anti-Dazzle code with a car in front is awesome. Can’t wait until we get to fully decode.

Would be great to see the video of the headlights in action in a real world situation on a dark road.

I’m still not totally sure what the anti-dazzle does - possible to capture that with a video as well, or is it based on oncoming traffic activity?

Appreciate it.

It drops the high beam on the car in front but still aims around the car.

Correct but the adaptive lighting expands around the car in front and still follows the direction of travel.

I like the black headlights and black tips. Also like the black wheels. But this is why BMW offers options
I went for black and black too. Love this color but I selected BG since have been driving a red car since 2009.

I can’t relate to having a wife that gets mad about my hobbies though.
I came around and ordered the lights, btw. The DRL’s are just too cool looking to pass up. When my wife said why not get the Carbon roof too, I realized I had a little more room to breathe. Still didn’t get the roof, but that’s okay. I think she was testing my sensibilities with that comment. 😀

$230 for the chrome exhaust tips? Is this something service can do? Is it easy?

IIRC recall it just takes a screwdriver to replace the tips.

You have a part # for the chrome tips by chance?

I just changed my build to add the lighting package, and noticed that there is a line for decoding the auto dazzle feature...

Yea I heard that’s a US thing, but can be coded the other way some people told me. I don’t really see the point, but that’s me.
