Updated OP: 2-series iDrive 8 is officially supported for some time now and added: Rear camera zoom (trailer hitch view) - which I find to be a pretty useful feature

Also regarding Auto Start Stop, if anyone is interested in tuning their transmission with xHP flash tools, I can confirm that the tune definitely disables ASS. The button is not lit, but the vehicle definitely does not shut off when stopped (using stage 2+). Only if you go into park will it shut off automatically

Dealer updated my car after they replaced the headlights. No longer have access to body control module. I’ve updated the app but that didn’t solve the issue.

anyone know how to fix this?

That update didn’t hit my car yet but there are other threads where other users have updated updated via OTA. Maybe worth asking there as well. Is it the 10/2023 update?

Other suggestion would be to try a different car model, select 2 or 3 series whichever is not the one you tried to code with. If that doesn’t help then reach out to the app devs maybe it’s something they can fix

Thanks for the info. I’ll check that out.
Car is now at 03/2024.25.
This really sucks. Anti dazzle was amazing. And they took that away

It seems that Little by little BMW is taking away the ability to code.

If you can avoid it, don’t update iDrive.
However, if your headlights have condensation, it’s out of your control. It’s very annoying, I mean super annoying to not be able to adjust the side mirror tilt.
Not able to adjust ambient lighting.
And not being able to enable anti dazzle

But having failed headlights is worse.
At least that is what I keep telling myself

That's good news. So hopefully BimmerCode can get all this functions working again. Even better if they can add additional features as well.

Finally got BimmerCode working.

Was only able to get 'Connection Error'. And yes, I tried everything you can think of.

This piece of shit set-up didn't work :

Instead of rebuying another non-defective Ethernet to OBD and another Ethernet to USB-C , I decided to go with a Bluetooth OBD device - which worked perfectly.

Turned off ASD . Even though I kinda like the fake sounds it makes in Sports Plus ..... I also don't like having fake sounds pumped in.

Turned Auto start / stop off.

Turned on Car start with Sports Individual.

Turned on Rolls Royce sounds.

Disabled seat belt warnings.

Adjusted passenger side mirror tilt to 60%.

Disabled window roll down cancel when opening door.

So the March 2024 update does not effect coding via BimmerCode like you initially thought?

If you are referring to me , I wasn't the poster who mentioned he was having issues and even certain categories were blocked out from using. I believe that was BlueLEDz.

I'm not sure if BimmerCode very recently fixed these issues , or the guy was just having other weird issues at the time.

Either way , everything worked fine for me, and no categories were blocked out.

So far so good.

I noticed that was missing a few months ago. Did you select 2-series? I’m thinking they might have that coding option for 3-series, if it’s still there

Yeah , first I coded everything using our 2-Series section . Then I switched to 3-Series to see if there was anything more I could code, and there was nothing.

Is it actually in the "Expert" 3-Series section ? I didn't go to Expert at all.

I’ve not checked since last weekend. If BimmerCode has had an update it maybe working now. I’ll check it out tomorrow.

I am into this now. I had an ENET cable sitting here that I hadnt used for anything yet. Yesterday I ordered an ANKER RJ45 to USB-C adapter off Amazon. It came in today so I tried it out. I tried to connect, got a error message, turned on airplane mode, click retry, and I was in.

I am running 07/2023.53

So far all I changed was for the car to default to sport mode. Since sport mode turns off auto stop, I figure I will just leave auto stop as standard. I dont mind it when I am outside of sport mode and wishing to save fuel (extremely rare mood of course).

About to go walk out to the car to see if it allows me to change an ambient color. I have been complaining about the washed out pastels in ID8 ambient since I got this car. Please just give me a solid color, any of them at this rate.

Given the ID version you are on, changing ambient color shouldn’t be an issue. I will note that every time I’ve watched one of the bmw holiday videos, the colors returned to their default value.
