Correct. Remember, this is a BMW forum, not Bentley/Rolls Royce/Aston Martin/Mercedes-Benz.

Sorry to hear, Aatish

I have a former co-worker who was T1 and went extremely low on one occasion. It was a terrible experience for her and anyone that has experienced this or witnessed it knows how horrible it can be for the patient. Even worse is all of the damage that glucose excursions cause.

The statement that drunk driving has NOTHING to do with drinking is stupid and false. If he would have said "the vast majority of drinkers choose to do so responsibly, so I don't think it is fair to judge all drinkers by the actions of a few", then I would be all thumbs up. But trying to make a point by taking an indefensibly extreme and false position weakens your argument, not strengthens it. I do drink beer, so I have no moral outrage about drinking. I do have visceral outrage over blatant and self-imposed idiocy though.
Which one of those damn things means this thing is supposed to be taken lightheartedly? Oh yeah, one second...

I am trying to remember an old joke that fits here.

I don't drink, smoke, or swear....

God damn it, I left my cigarettes in the bar.

60 he says. Lgihtweight. I was cruising back to my office before lunch with a small roll of sourdough bread, and started to notice my thoughts wandering a bit. Checked and I was 41.

Plus, YOU of all people should know it's not the CONSUMPTION of sugar that messes us up, its the lack of imbibing in enough sugar that gets us in trouble

That is very true!

60 is were the cold sweat starts. Lowest I've gone is 32. Now that was scary.

At least when I'm stumbling drunk, I can ask for a ride or another glass of Jack. If I'm stumbling low, I can't even ask for much more than "sod"

So, your meter never told you "Lo"????

My worst low, my dad tried to do chest compressions on me, while I was on a bed. Then the firemen came and tried to strap me onto a gurney. Took 6 guys to get me belted in, the doctor say my blood tests the next day and knew I put up a hell of a fight from the muscle by-products still floating around in my system. Why I could put up such a fight with a level they estimated at 26, I'll never know.

When the mind goes, and you know you are stuck in there, but "I've fallen and can't reach my soda" sucks way worse then actually spilling your Scotch. The helplessness while laying on the floor, hoping for a glimpse of sugar in some form, frustrates me more than anything in my life.

Actually though, some of the clearest thinking I have ever experienced were times when I was hovering around 60. I had nothing to think about, but the mind was so clear. Those experiences are why I am considering trying to go ketogenic.
