Will the fenders be flared any more? I like bulge in my fenders! And I agree with what someone mentioned earlier about the melting front and rear end look.

However, the car will be a beast and I wouldn't mind testing one out. I liked the C63 on Laguna when my friend let me drive his and it was blast.

The SLS comes with a transaxle.

The Black Series has a Electronically controlled LSD, I think. Whatever it is, the W205 is getting it.

'A newly developed, electronically controlled AMG rear-axle differential lock with a shorter rear-axle ratio replaces the mechanical variant; it is integrated in the compact transmission housing. This system operates with a variable locking effect in acceleration and deceleration mode; in addition, the electronics respond more sensitively than to date, enabling excellent traction for the driven wheels at all friction levels.'

I get it. But they are just doing a publicity stunt. In the SLS the LSD is part of the transmission. It's the same unit as in my 458. The C63 will have conventional drivetrain, so it won't have a transaxle. Probably when MB PR guys saw that the C63 is getting an electronic type LSD, they decided to throw a SLS mentioning in their press release just because.

Exactly what I thought. Not sure how one would transfer parts from transaxle to diff. But an E-diff is probably what will surface.

I don't mind the wait. Gives them more time to perfect it.

I think they still have quite a bit of tinkering to do and I wouldn't be surprised if it starts to borrow from the new GT's layout as far as the interior is concerned.

I can promise you that most of the tinkering has long been done if you expect to see the car in Oct.

On another note, I can't wait to see the 3 Germans battle it out again. It feels like just yesterday, I was drooling over the Top Gear episode where they tested the M3 vs RS4 vs C63. I still watch it all the time

I meant more along the lines of finalizing the production interior, dialing in the exhaust sound (apparently something that M is still doing on the F80 despite the fact that it has already been revealed), etc.

And yes, that was a good episode. Wish they would've done it again after the LCI C63 came out. It got a new transmission, new suspension, new COMAND system, etc. MB is quite a bit more aggressive with its facelifts than BMW. The W212 E-Class is another great example. With its LCI it received new front and rear bumpers, new motor (5.5L biturbo in lieu of the 6.2 NA V8), and so on.

As for as the interior, the design is absolutely done. To change it now would be because something is seriously flawed with the design (function wise). I'm sure they are working on quality though. Electronics and exhaust tuning is still underway as well I'm sure. I work in the industry

I completely agree with you about FL C63, they really did some great improvements IMO.

Nice to have some insider insight! Very much appreciated.

I was just speculating that there might still be some work to do based on seeing some of the recent spy shots of the test mules. Some aspects of the interior/exterior on the mules don't match up with some of the rumors I've heard on the PL.

One of the rumors floating around the PL was that the console shifter was gone, and the C63's shifter would be on the steering column. Hope that doesn't come true.

Agreed. I have the console shifter setup on the E550. It's actually pretty tolerable. Even if a steering column-mounted selector is utilized, the C63 will still have plenty of useful buttons and the agility selector on the center console.

That said, I would prefer a setup similar to that found on the new GT. What a cool gear selector.

After the C63, you're going to want to jump into the AMG GT or a Black series C63.

Not a bad plan at all. Would be a great way to determine which brand you prefer. I tend to like each brand equally but lately, I've just been flat-out impressed by what AMG has doing. AMG's offerings are more well-rounded than ever.

Or this. The pull of the Dark Side is strong.
