I considered an auto 135i purely because manuals were so rare, but I knew deep down that I would regret it sooner or later. It's a bugger in stop-start traffic, but that was a compromise I was prepared to make. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-auto, just pro-manual.

I got to see it up and close at a cars & coffee in Orange County. Smells like a BMW inside lol.

I don't put any value into Youtube car "reviews" since they never say anything negative. Car & Driver, Motortrend, Road & Track, etc. are still the best reviews. They aren't a bunch of chumps just excited a company lent them a car for a day.

Yeah a manual would make it more of a driver’s car but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a driver’s car already. Assigning specific rules to the driver’s car or not a driver’s car binary means that some could consider the 718 gt4 not a driver’s car because it has power steering. In today’s terms this would be called gatekeeping

Ideally a driver's car, I think, would have a manual...that's all.

I think most of his complaints are warranted, but...

#4: The fuel tank capacity isn't that far off from others.

4C: 10.5 gal
Zupra: 13.7 gal
Cayman: 14.2 gal
TT: 14.5 gal
SLC: 15.9 gal

#5: It's the same on Toyotas.

#10: It's a clam hood.. I have seen the same amount of gaps on past Z4s and Vipers.

The one complaining about no specific phone mount was pretty lame. I honestly expected the next complaint to be something like, "The largest can of Monster doesn't fit in the cup holder" or something equally lame.

I also don't get the complaint on the ZF vs DCT. The ZF shifts just as quickly, so who cares what type of auto it is? I don't care if it's literal hamsters pulling strings, I care about the end result.

I have two comments here.

1. I completely agree with your opinion on the Supra styling. They went too far with faking the funk.

2. The Supra does look better in person. I'm just not sure this point overcomes the first one for me.

I haven't driven the Supra, but I have driven ZFs and DCT. My 340i vs 135i extensively and shorter drives in Ms. Wouldn't be surprised if the shift speeds are the same, but the dct did feel like a more aggressive shift. It might all be in my mind, but I miss the dct.

Because what you meant to say is that it is not enough of a driver's car for you, which is perfectly valid, but let's not act like a driver's car is so cut and dry that it can be determined from a spec sheet.

People will attempt the same with the C8. In one year, there will be plenty of Supras and C8s to buy at MSRP or less. I'm eyeballing that white 1997 NSX-T on BAT right now. Now THAT is a true sports car
