That's crazy. I've never had a problem telling someone what place they are in line.

Did you try Sewell Plano (or Grapevine if you want to drive that far)? No deposit. I imagine the Plano store will have a shorter line than the Grapevine store.

Question:

I’ve had my head buried in the M4 forum for the last six months, so forgive this potentially stupid question.

If in 2-3 weeks I wanted to order my second M2, auto, Zandvoort, carbon package, etc., how long do you think it would take to get the car delivered?

I’d either do PCD or pick up at any dealer on the East Coast or northern Midwest. (My M4 has been built and is waiting to get loaded on a ship, but I’m getting a bad vibe from my dealer.)

Thanks in advance!

Jackie

Yes I contacted both Dealerships (Sewell) both have a 5-10 person waiting list.....the 5K deposit is okay...I'm just going to wait until the demo comes in and drive it and then I will not hesitate to put the deposit down. But until then just be patient.

Dont be surprised if the "demo"/HEA is sold before you or anyone else gets to drive it (and maybe even see it).

There won't be a demo if things are going the way we've heard all over. I think only out west in CA and a few places have had trouble moving their HEA's due to extensive ADM.

I'm willing to bet good money you'll never get to drive one before ordering unless you know someone who bought/buys one.

I think you're looking at a year unless you snatch up an HEA.

Ouch!

Is that because of demand outstripping supply, or because the carbon pkg will be in short supply?

Due to existing people on lists and minimal allocations to dealerships.

Honestly I think a year is on the optimistic side.

I’ve spoken with dealers that claim to have 40 in line. Your only real shot is to find a dealer that hasn’t sold their HEA, but that’s likely to have a high ADM.

If the production rate of the current 2 series is any indication, it’ll take México A LONG TIME to catch up with the new M2 demand.

Agreed. Our G42s trickle in and they are typically priority 1 units as well.

I honestly think had a shortage of parts for the 2 series and decided to save the supply for the G87. That’s why the G42 has been the toughest car to get the last 6-8 months.

Went in Saturday to put my **non-refundable deposit of 5k on my build. #1 at this dealer slated for mid april build, mid june delivery. Wasn't offered the HEA but will be test driving it soon... actually happy about that because I didn't want to settle on a spec I kind of wanted. Gives me more time with the G80 before I most likely swap it out.

Sucks for people looking for a G42 but since I have a 2022 M240 to trade in when I pick up the G87, I’m hoping this situation helps with my trade in value

100% should. If they don’t give you a trade in you like, make sure they know how rare they are. Hell even dangle the idea of pulling the trade.

Looking up to order the new M2, I was curious to see which winter tires would fit as I live in a place with a pretty rough winter. So far, I have not been able to find any winter tires that fits the Front 275/35/19 Rear 285/30/20 as precised on BMW websites.
I only found All-season which will not be ideal…

Any ideas?

Run a BMW winter wheel/tire set or get some aftermarket wheels/tires in 275 or 265 width. Plenty of options.

If you want a winter setup that is more aggressive than the BMW offering, 255/40-19 tyres all around may be better, there are also a few more winter tyres available in that size compared with 275/35-19. I plan to use that tyre size on 19x8.5" (likely ET25) aftermarket wheels.

Garage List
So contacted my sales guy after not hearing much. I bought my current car from this dealer and several from their predecessor before they were bought out, but never dealt with this guy. So after putting in a preorder 6/21 and told I was #2 on the list, now he says I'm #4 because there was a second list he didn't know about. Oh, and management has decided on $5,000 ADP. I'm kind'a pissed. Sent an email to the general manager and sales manager.

Edit: Just got a prompt reply from the general manager saying they will sell at MSRP! My temper had gone down a notch.
