I just got on the waiting list at Hendrick BMW Northlake in Charlotte for an M2 and M3. (unsure) I should have definitely gotten on a little sooner, like when I went to see it at the BMW CCA in October. Wasn't fond of the ZB and need to see it again. The car had a presence but next to M4 CS, other M3s, and an F87 M2 CS directly across the parking lot, it had a lot of competition. No ADM and $1k down for a order bank deposit that is refundable, another $1k down that is non refundable once the allocation comes up and it is ordered. They have a list of 40 and 2 have been pulled plus their HEA(s). In other news I called Asheville BMW and my CA over there stated that he looked this morning and their HEA is in Brunswick and he expects it next week. They don't anticipate keeping it on the lot as it is sold.

I spoke to a somewhat local dealer today, we made an "appointment" for next week for me to drive the HEA the second it shows up at the store. I asked him if he was SURE that it would be available to be driven, he again said yes. He is tracking it and says he will give me a day's notice. Plan on being there when the dealership opens. I am still yet to see one in person. (as most of us are i assume)

I am not hopefully that our HEA arrives next week, to soon. The following week? More than likely. |

A list with 40 in front of you. If that number is truly accurate, you may want to search for another dealership with a shorter list. |

Not too worried about it. They got 20+ m3 last year. I am in the banks for an m3 with lesser amount of people in front of me as well. I have had issues with smaller dealers in the past not being able to get allocation even with shorter lists. In my estimation I will be a late 24 or early 25 and will have most of the bugs worked out and possibly be at the top of the list for the next best thing if I don’t have one by then or at least have different options available to me. It fits the timeline as I am breaking ground on building a house this spring. Appreciate the advice though.

Those individuals that keep referring to “bugs” do realize that everything about a G87 is shared with other platforms? It is literally a parts bin car. |

I understand that. I’m mainly referring to the electronics side which is part of the driver experience inclusive of how the car actually drives. I drive 8 is relatively new. Everything else is body work and the same mechanical high performance components in a small form factor. I would get the car now had I made it more of a priority to get this year with no qualms. I know the car is going to be a blast to drive , of good quality, and at a great price point.

ID8 is not that new. ID8.5 is coming soon as well as ID9. You will be waiting indefinitely if you prefer for the OS to be fully stable. The purpose of the OTA updates is to alleviate this thought process as well as push it to a vast amount of models without the need of service departments uploading the newest OS. |

We are at two years with ID8. Since its introduction. The iX received it first for MY22.

About 2/3 of all allocations are 112 or 150 now. In a matter of days about 60 allocations have gone from 111 to 112. I'm not just happy to continue proving this guy wrong, I'm genuinely happy to see things moving forward. Mostly because I want to get upgraded to status 111!

What is the wait time for an M2 at this point?

There are some HEA's available with 10k+ADM attached. To configure one and order it will be at least one year give or take.
Your best bet is someone not taking delivery or flipping it. We've also heard of some dealers offering higher up spots if you're willing to pay them. |

I have been able to avoid ADM on my cars at this point. However, 12 months isn’t too bad a wait time compared to other manufacturers.

People stating a willingness to wait rather than pay an ADM is encouraging. When dealers can find few people taking the ADM, they will respond. Not selling a car makes a lot less money than selling one at or below MSRP (sure seems obvious).

We all know there are plenty of folks out there who will pay whatever ADM there is on these cars for as long as there is ADM. Some people have throw away money and just want to have the new shiny thing at any cost.
