Yes, everything else is going amazingly well, but one critical flaw: Despite being a good friend for many years, sometimes their true personalities come out after dating. She was in a rebound when she met me, I was single for almost 2 years when I met her.

I bought into her front that she shows the world instead of her true character (and believe me, she hid that shit well), which I should've learned my lesson from the last time I dated a girl from China.

Despite the intricate collage, I'm a bit disappointed, but some things were starting to not quite gel since the beginning of last month and I was debating on whether or not to continue the relationship anyway, so her ditching first was actually a bit of a relief since it saved me the trouble of having to rattle off a laundry list of why I wanted to leave her... She criticizes me for doing a late business deal and comes home late, but hangs out and spends the night with her girlfriends all night (or guys, whatever now... But I still hate sleeping alone), started smoking socially (but I quit smoking and can't stand the smell), a few other flaws, plus our chemistry was already starting to fizzle around the beginning of the month and it sharply cut off after her mom went back to China.



Oh, I have something much better. One little fact is that she outstayed her visa, but was allowed to continue on the contingency of working. However, she hasn't held a job since November. So, let's just say that after I pull a few strings and if they want to continue that relationship, it'll have to be long distance. Also, I'm waiting until this motherfucker comes around (so far they haven't and I don't have a clue where she hangs out nowadays); I have a 3-foot copper pipe in the garage with his name on it.

Instead of doing all this, I suggest you to move on. Not worth the consequences and having you regret doing something you shouldn't have done with a clear mind.

Yeah, I was still somewhat teeter-tottering in between the anger and depression phase of grief when I wrote this. I still have getting her deported in the back of my mind, but it's not strong enough to act on anymore... Nor do I have any interest in taking her back since I do not want to be a Cold Shit Syndrome sufferer like OP (sorry OP).

Sounds great. Occupy yourself with other things/tasks/people and this allows you to get over her more quickly.

Also, Chinese girls ain't all that bad. My wife is Shanghainese (you know what they say about Shanghai girls) and from a well-off family, but I know from the bottom of my heart that she will stick through thick and thin with me. I was dirt poor when she first met me and now we're married. Having a heart of gold helps.

Well, she's from Hubei (a stereotype of being cunning) whose family moved to Suzhou while she was young (I don't know Suzhou's story, but since it's only 70 miles from Shanghai I don't imagine it being that much different)... I'm occupying myself with itemizing receipts for the damn taxes, but better than nothing AND what little expenses I entered so far changed me from having to pay $83 to getting $300 back (and probably more once I finish rummaging through the pile of receipts I hastily put stockpiled middle of last year).

But one thing I know for sure: If someone is not willing to be with you in your low points, they don't deserve to be with you when you finally break free and make it. Despite Shanghai's stereotype (which is hard to say; I know/knew 6 Shanghainese people and 4 of them were not money-centric and nonjudgmental)... But like my friend from Heilongjiang said, I noticed the greedy ones are often the impoverished farmers who don't have much hope for prospering on their own and leave it to their husband (*cough* my previous girlfriend *cough* who bugged me for weeks for an LV purse for her birthday *ahem*).

I'm glad your relationship flourished considering your circumstances, also glad she stuck by you through thick and think, and wish you well for the years to come.

Despite whatever unpopular opinions I say on here to weed out the prudes and liberals, or drawn-out thoughts since my dad was a writer and my mom tends to drone on poetically the few times she plays nice... Then why am I not in jail, especially considering her new BF is a lawyer whose career is to either fuel lawsuits or send people to jail? Also, we used to travel together all the time (mostly HER idea, might I add), and she's had plenty of girls night outings and heads out regularly on her own too (if anything, she's out of the house more than I am since I don't mind chilling at home); not "caged" and has plenty of chances to leave on her own terms (and she definitely did leave the house to go fuck this asshole she's dating), and in actuality, I can't wait to have her shit out of here so that I can move on and date other women like how she decided to date other men.
