Don't know about the rest of you guys...
We've been getting tons of rain. My yard looks like Augusta and Botanical Gardens! Although my Holy Grail Hibiscus are just beginning to bloom, they will continue blooming through October. An when even they do, they are a sight to behold. ❤️ This bloom you see here is 7in in diameter. 🌺 Last edited by TXSTYLE; 06-04-2022 at 12:59 PM.. |

- 16 yards of mulch delivered.
- 5 hours edging (which you can see I suck at) - 3 hours trimming and shaping bushes - 8 hours mulching - 1 burned balding head ![]() - 1 lost trip to the country club for a round of golf ![]() I get zero satisfaction out of yard work.

I just placed 2 new planters at the back door. The fire pit was removed and replanted grass. I just need to replace the mulch with stone. It never ends.

Always wear one, typically the only times I take the hat off are for showering and [censored].
Starting early in the morning somehow dictated differently this day. ![]()

After 4 years of building our home, as of this Summer, I can now say and see the benefits and joy of planting TAHOMA 31 Bermuda just 5 weeks ago!!! This picture is of the side of our home that only gets maybe an hour or 2 of direct sunlight. As you may know, regular Bermuda Grass requires at least 6+ hours of daily Sun to thrive. I forgot to take a before photo. But trust me when I say, it was a bare wasteland of a few strands of grass and weeds prior to this.
This Tahoma 31 is nothing short of Spectacular! ![]() Apparently this is used in many Golf Courses.

Added additional loops/rings of drip line irrigation 3 river birches, 3 Norway spruces, 1 ornamental pear tree, and 2 dogwoods yesterday. Each had only a single ring except the dogwoods which had none. No bueno. PITA dealing with the birches and spruces because of how they were planted and also getting all the dried mulch out of the way to work.
Also used my pressure washer to try to pare back the soil around the trunks of the birches and spruces to expose the root flare. Some but minimal success. Still beats paying $500 for an air spade, though. Finishing up today by adding an extra ring around the 7 arbs we have in the same property line bed as the aforementioned trees/shrubs.

Thickening would likely require grass seed at some of point, but possibly not depending on the grass type you have (e.g. rhyzomous or not) and what is causing an area to be thin.

for thicker grass, its also a process. 1st step is to get rid of excess thatch you may have. then get a soil test and see what kind of fertilizer you need. then maybe some overseeding depending on your grass type. its a process and requires a lot of work, but it worth it imo. this was my grass last year. not healthy, lots of bare spots ![]() this is my grass beginning of may when i really looked in to what i was going to need. ![]() and my grass now after biweekly fertilizer/weed control/fungus and disease control applications and an overseed. ![]()

I need to seed my yard. The builders put some crappy ass sod of Bermuda Grass in and a lot of it has not taken yet. I have a little over 1/3 of an acre and I can't wait to be able to actually landscape this football field! LOL

Try reducing the number of days to 4 and increase time to 45mins per zone. Your frequent shallow watering is causing the roots to stay near the surface. This allows high temps to cook the root zone. Your start time will need to be earlier as well with the longer run times.

i only water twice a week, 1.25" a time. also try to water later in the morning. Watering when its dark and/or cool leads to fungus and disease.
