...because I may have prevented a domicile-destroying conflagration last night!
My iPhone wireless charging cradle has been acting weird for about a week, and failed to charge my on-call work phone on Tuesday night. When I was examining it, I noticed that the microUSB power inlet socket was loose inside the unit. Whenever I moved the charger, the power would intermittently drop. I went to that big online retailer's web site named after a river, to buy a new wireless charger cradle. When I was reading the reviews of several potential options, there was a recurring theme of chargers melting down or bursting into flames in close proximity to their microUSB input power sockets. Remembering the @#**%@^* nightmare that I had when soldering the microUSB socket onto my lightning detector kit a few years ago, it makes sense that these tiny connectors are easy to snap off of a printed circuit board and the tiny pins are really taxed when feeding 3+ amps into the charger. (I had to buy special hair-thin solder and an "old man" lighted magnifier soldering station to put that connector onto the lightning detector PCB.) Long story short, I immediately smashed the charging dock to prevent further use, and will definitely use epoxy or hot glue to permanently attach the power cord mechanically to the socket on the replacement cradle (with a USB-C socket this time instead of a microUSB) when it arrives today.....

Roof is done, yard is cleaned up, younger brother is on his way out to visit, it's Friday, and the weather is decent. Life is good.

Woke up 5 minutes early, but got to work 30 minutes early
So, I can write in 3 hours when I left office at 9 to go home. Stopped by Public Housing and discovered I could readily raise rent about $600 on each of 3 properties Wife got home a bit later than expected, but traffic wasn't that bad on the way to Chavez Ravine #ITFDB !!! 69 degrees, in the shade behind home plate, super Dodger Dog and Jim for lunch 5-3 Dodgers over D'backs. Relatively light traffic coming home. Sushi and sake when we got home Sun is just setting, chickens are fed, 20 eggs collected. Book to read for a few minutes before heading off to dreams

...because the Mighty Dodge is back from the shop and in our driveway again.
Of course they didn't find the cause of the squeal/burning smell problem, so this weekend's road trip down south will be testing my sense of adventure....and (fingers crossed) not testing my roadside assistance coverage.....

...because I made it walking through the woods and up the hill to the back of our retirement lot THREE TIMES today...without falling, getting dizzy, or feeling winded. At this time last year, I didn't even make it half way up the first time, and I fell a time or two. Guess the ticker is truly recovering.....

...because the Mighty Dodge has gone through over $725 in diesel fuel so far on our crazy road trip, and has not had one single mechanical issue!
From NY to SC, GA, Miami, and now in TN for one last stop before heading home.....
