Why the hell is he not using the flappy paddles to shift? Both hands on the wheel at those speeds. There is zero advantage to shifting with the shift knob except to appear like you have a manual when everyone knows you don’t.
Not to mention with a car that heavily modified I’m sure with the upgraded trans he also has xHP. In that case he could manually set the shift points and just not worry about shifting manually at all. |

I'll waste some more hot air here.
If the wipers were in Auto they would have swiped once or twice and stopped. They were obviously not in Auto as they stayed on. He bumped the stalk in the impact - this is a frequent occurrence in an accident. But yes, the wipers are likely the only working item left on the car after he wrecked it.

This is wild, love 1stock and this car. Glad to see them walk away though, those are some tough speeds to go sideways at.

Glad you walked away . Guys remember to try and always hold the steering wheel with two hands. When the steering wheel blows and your one hand / arm is in the way it can break your arm.

This thread truly opened my eyes to how weird the world is nowadays because you have many here giving their account as to what happen and last I check there was only a hand full of us at the track that day.
You also have those saying what they would’ve done and how much of an idiot he is etc… everyone has it all figured out when they aren’t in the situation so cool story I guess. I’m not even going to give the other negative bs any attention so salute to those in this thread who are positive and those who showed love it’s highly appreciated..🫡

Back in the mythbusters days they showed it would be difficult for an airbag to dislocate a thumb (old style rim to rim airbags). Anyway, an arm flopping around is more likely to break your nose when the airbag propels it into your face. If this thing could break arms there would be skull fractures every day.

Yeah, thanks for digging that out. I think the key word though is "infrequently" as part of the subset...
It's a study. It can happen. It's not frequent.

Well, unfortunately, the same BMW M240i driver crashed his replacement G42.
This time the wreck was fatal. He was street racing his 7 second BMW and wrecked. He died on impact. |
