Pardon my ignorance, but what, really, is the LCI expected to bring?

Expect new headlights, taillights, new wheels or wheel finishes and interior updates. LCI might also be when they debut the M xDrive model and it might even be a Comp, TBD. What's unknown is if there will be any exterior styling updates. The likelihood of that is low IMO.

So a big part of me wants to wait for an MY2025 - are we absolutely sure Frozen Portimao blue will be offered in MY2025? This is the color I want. One of those articles said it would still be offered, in addition to the new 2025 colors.

When do the dealers typically get their allotments / ability to place new model year orders? April? May?

I’m curious, on what basis are we expecting MY25 to NOT be an LCI?
We know for sure that the 2 Series coupe (non-M) is getting MY25 LCI starting August production, and we know for sure that the M2 is getting power increase and allegedly new colors for MY25 also starting August production.
Why would BMW go through the effort of a power increase and new colors, also while giving an LCI to a non-M counterpart on the same production schedule, just to then do an M2 LCI the following year?

I’m surprised nobody else seems to share my perspective that all signs point to MY25 being the LCI for the M2.

Thoughts?

Everything I see on the backend does not indicate an LCI model. If you need another source that MY25 won't be LCI, look at post #1995.

I think I’m going to swing my build slot I just got from a ‘24 to a ‘25. I’d be first in line at my dealer for the ‘25s.
The wait is really going to suck, but I hate buying a car right on the cusp of a next new model year’s release. Hope I don’t regret the decision!

Thanks. I’ve got one dealer saying roughly that ^, and another dealer saying June ordering, August build start, October delivery.

Will any of these new developments (hp bump for MY25, xdrive, etc.) impact the 6MT, or will that model stay relatively the same?

My dealer told me outside of new colours, he expects relatively same for manual outside of HP bump.

The power jump will surely affect resale value of the current lineup regardless of how little the change in 0-60 will be with the newer 25’ M2.

Highly doubt that.

People were saying the same thing about the "OG M2" once the M2C came out, and it really did not seem to affect resale significantly.

Maybe you’re right but at this stage of the lifecycle, would probably make more sense to order the 25’ if indeed orders start in 5M for the increased HP (unless you can snag a nice discount on the older model).

Just gave up my 2024 slot to be first in line for a 2025 slot. Kinda bummed.

Long wait. Let’s hope that +20HP is actually a real +20HP.

In light of Laguna Seca Blue appearing back on offer in the individual catalog, what are the odds that the voodoo blue rumor turns out to actually be LSB?

This would make more sense to me, considering that voodoo blue is not a BMW original paint code, and (to my knowledge) has never been offered on any BMW ordering guide including P1 individual colors, but only as a true individual request.

I’d be 100% down with LSB. Although I kind of already got myself psyched for Frozen Portimao.

I’m also first in line for the 25’ (after selling my G80).
20HP is nice but I’m hoping there might be more options on interior choices.

I hope they offer it! I’m in a world of hurt if twilight purple, LSB, Voodoo and Portimao (non frozen) are offered as choices. It will make for a hard choice. Talk about going from no choices to too many good ones.

My hypothesis would be LSB instead of Voodoo, it just makes more sense to me since it’s an original BMW color and Voodoo is not.

I’d be happy with either one, I’m just still chasing a bright blue M car after buying two E46 M3’s and failing to get my hands on an LSB both times

I'm with you. I'm pretty sure Ill go with a bright blue this time around as well. Twilight is sentimental as it reminds me of my old e36 M3 I had for a few years. It is as close to TV as I can get. I'm hoping LSB doesn't carry an individual color surcharge, but it appears like it will according to the info for the m3/m4.

Makes sense to wait at this point. If you had gotten a July '24 delivery, that's about when the '25 ordering/pricing guide should be released. If it did have one or more significant changes you would have liked, you might have a case of buyer's remorse immediately. Plus, in just a couple months it would already be 1 model year old.

I'm really happy with my 2021, and when the G87 first appeared, I wasn't that interested. After a year or so I've started to rethink that, and now am obsessed with the G87, to the point I went to several dealers to look at the lot inventory. I wasn't finding the exact build I wanted though. Earlier this month, the CA I bought my M235i from told me she had a '24 allocation and I was really tempted. But then I realized I shouldn't rush the decision, so I gave her a deposit and am first on the list for a '25 when they get the allocation.

I've seen several articles stating 2025 won't be an LCI - from bmwblog (I know this source is quoted a lot):

"It won’t be a fully-fledged Life Cycle Impulse since there aren’t going to be enough significant revisions to warrant the LCI terminology. The mildly revised cars will begin to roll off the assembly line in Mexico in August. Our sources close to Munich have told us the kidney grille could get a nip and tuck with new black elements."

Yes I’ve read all of the statements about it from various sources, but WHY not?
It seems to me like a bunch of people just saying “it won’t be an LCI” over and over with no reasoning behind it.

Ultimately it doesn’t make a difference to me either way, I’ll be getting a MY25 regardless, I’m just surprised that there’s zero speculation that maybe possibly it could be an LCI after all.
