Wouldn't it be so much better if the ASD came from a microphone near the exhaust, so you were hearing the actual exhaust sound all the time? And you could control the volume with a setting. Shouldn't be that that hard.

And why can the magic sound be turned off in an i4, for example, and not the ASD in ICE cars? (ignoring coding, etc.)

So many mysteries.

Main gripe so far (in addition to some already listed):

If you setup M1 or M2 with MDM or TC off, there is now a 2 second delay before you can confirm the change. You used to be able to double press which instantly selects and confirms your M1/2 settings.

Not sure. Surprise I guess. Feature new to me. Kicks in at 10 mi range.
The real gripe is the 250 mi range after fill up.

I hit it once, the immediate cut in power was dangerous, IMO. Had someone been tailgating me, and it was quite possible where it happened, there would have been an accident.

Gotta add one minor gripe so far. Not a major thing but it bugs the hell out of me. In all my previous cars, anytime I went into an underground garage, I would turn off my automatic headlights so they wouldn’t come on, and just go with my daylight running lights. I hate that in this car, it will not allow me to turn the headlights off unless the car is parked.

You can code it in though, Bimmercode for example has that feature natively.
The garage is enough lit by lights but not enough for the automatic headlights to remain off. Plus the DRLs are bright enough for this garage. For halogen lights, turning them on and off in short invervals definitely shortens their lifespan… don’t think same is true for LED lights but not sure…

Electronics nerd here. LEDs are not very sensitive to on-off cycles because they don't get as hot. What tends to fail, unfortunately, is the circuity that control the LEDs. This is a real problem with cheap LED housebulbs that are rated to 10000 hrs but never get there because the control board dies first.

Anyway, FWIW, I don't worry too much about cycle wear on LED headlights. Despite that, there are times when I wish I could turn off the lights, so it's a valid gripe.

Also I'd like the option to automatically turn on headlights when using wipers, since that's a law in my state.

The assist drive needing automatic transmission, I understand. But, just start and operate the car, hard to understand

I’d rather not have the cupholders, but I’m probably in the minority as well on that.
Interesting

BMW could bring back those pop-out cup holders mounted on the left of the glove boxes. Not taking any space, and it’s there when needed.

You just reminded me of yet another gripe of mine! I could also do without those cup holders which sit too forward under the dash making placement of any taller cups such as one I take to the gym everyday impossible!!

Because anything tall would fall out. I really do not like them, personally.

If I have to choose between cupholders and NFC, I'm choosing cupholders. You can't put a cup of coffee in the side pocket, and daddy needs his morning coffee.

In the manual, the right cupholder is completely useless to me. I will smash whatever's there when shifting. Left is a little less useless, but can only fit, height wise, a "medium" of most cups, otherwise it activates what little buttons we have there. I have to be careful putting a cup with a lid in there as the lid will scratch the plastic trim.

Bottle in door is best for me.

Maybe if you shifted like a refined gentleman it wouldn't be a problem. Two fingers, like moving an egg. Pinky out, of course.

After all, anything less would be uncivilized.

Also, it is amazing that complaining about cupholders is a BMW owner's tradition that now dates back at least 20 years. Ain't that a crazy thing?
