Sad how so many options on the 230 "requires ordering ZMP" (ZMP M Sport Package).
That forces buyers into the one with the ugly snout (Triangles)

But one interesting detail on my actual BMW Build pix. The triangle on the 230i w/M Sports is not outlined in chrome like the M240; 100% black if this is accurate??? And sorry pix is upside down, on my desktop same pix opens up normal Last edited by yanks1; 09-12-2021 at 01:42 PM.. |

I think the Shadowline pkg adds black highlights around the LED headlight lens

No 230i in Canada until next year when the 230i xDrive is introduced. I have come to appreciate the significantly more restrained look of the Sport Line (non M Sport). I just can't do the triangles on the M Sport, nor the silly black cladding on the side of it. So more waiting until I can build a loaded 230i xDrive in Canada.

The color is great, but if in the US. You think blue calipers going to look good with that color?

You gotta click on the relevant packages, and within that it'll let you select caliper color, and the moonroof delete too.

Red or Blue are not the perfect color match. Yellow would be preferred or black. In driving I will not be looking at the caliper nor do I really care what other people think lol.

I don't' have colors nailed down (classic Alpine White or the Brooklyn Grey), but I'm going for a lower content, no moonroof, 230i with the M Sport Package and Handling Package. The HK sound system as my only amenity. I do love the cognac sensatec interior, but the red looks awesome. Red calipers too.

Yes, I am picking the cheaper shadowline package for sure. Budget also drove my decision, but only because I don't know what I'd do with that extra 3.0T power. Great motor, the B58, but it's too much power, for too much money....IMO. The M240 is an awesome car all the same. My philosophy is that the 230i is quick enough...I want lighter for handling. Going faster is not possible where I live. I have a track car, so this won't see track duty. Last edited by Dinosoar; 09-15-2021 at 01:50 PM.. |

great Dinosaur... I don't have track car but have near mint 2008 Mustang GT/Calif Special Vert with 5 speed manual so that's my old school car.
My 2018 230i was damn fast enough. For the G42 I compared build quotes w/similar equipment and M240i would run me ~ $7k more... Not $12k like the initial price difference since some of the usual options on 230i are std on the M240 |

Just ordered the new M240.
Brooklyn Grey over Cognac sensatec. Shadowline Package w/ the 791M Jet black wheels. ZPK for the cameras and the Drive recorder. ZPP Premium package throws in a lot of goodies. HK sound system. Probably will never sound as good as a true audiophile install, but I was ok with the sound on my 2019 F22. Very excited. Not my first BMW, but my first build. I really wanted to go for the High performance wheel option with the upgraded cooling, but my chances of tracking this car seriously are slight. I will probably add a set of aftermarket wheels and tires in the spring, there should be a better set of choices in terms of size, offset, etc., than there was for the F22. I do like the option of 245's up front. I'll keep the stock wheels/all season run flats for winter, as I did with the F22. Dealer is optimistic about a Novemberish delivery, we'll see. He's worried that the HK package might delay things due to the chip shortage. I could be patient till New Years.
