The US is an an anomaly in terms of vehicle sales distribution, compared with the world as a whole with a tendency towards larger vehicles than elsewhere. The 3-series is still the best selling car line and X3 the best selling SUV line, although when the 3-series is combined together with the 4-series the 4-door Gran Coupe is increasing the 4-series number at the expense of the 3-series but with it really being more of a 3-series in traditional terms.

When taken together there is quite a sales gap between the 3/4-series and X3/4-series over the 5/6-series and X5/6-series: https://www.bmwblog.com/2022/03/19/b...sales-figures/, although these are only 2021 full year numbers.

When taking registrations from this site: https://carsalesbase.com/europe-bmw/, the total 2022 11-month sales (Jan to Nov) total 574,057 BMW vehicles sold in Europe with the following breakdown:

1-series - 59,092
2-series - 51,807
3-series - 78,325
4-series - 37,566
5-series - 46,842
6-series - 1,020

X1 - 61,009
X2 - 20,835
X3 - 55,673
X4 - 14,767
X5 - 44,971
X6 - 9,098

Although I’ve never found a breakdown of the numbers, I wouldn’t be surprised if the most popular engine sold across the whole range is the B38 3-cylinder these days, although with the return of the G2x 318i to 4-cyclinder B4x engines compared with the B3x in the F3x cars, the B48 is probably the most common engine overall.

I disagree, the M4 is more palatable than this. Myb the design is way ahead of its time. Just saying.

Had a look at a ZB G87 on display at my local dealer today and have to say overall I was very disappointed. Can’t fathom how BMW managed to f*** it up so bad when they had such a beautiful looking design in the F87 to start with. IMO the front end looks unfinished and that rear geez I’m lost for words. ZB does not compliment the exterior design either and to my eye makes it look worse than it actually is. I’m usually very open to change and new designs etc but this one has me stumped!
On a side note there was also a frozen black G81 on display right next to the M2 and it looked amazing. I’m not usually one for wagons but this one really looks the part.

I ain't knocking anyone for liking the f87, I like the front end of it. But I've never thought the back or rear 3/4 is anything close to beautiful. The non-M 2 series looked blobby and uninspired and the m2 was barely better.

At first I hated the ass end of this thing, but now the Cuban in me loves it; big and wide! lol What I still struggle with is that snaggle tooth front fascia, the manner hood meets it. The side of car is chunky and bold, but a bit plain.

The inside is a winner. Just add an analog gauge cluster theme to ID8 for those who want a more old school vintage look; it would be simple to implement.

Whoa, just imagine this with the proper drop (~40mm front, ~25mm rear) with proper wheels offsets...can't wait

The rear of the G87 definitely looks better and meaner than the F87. Love how they created the raised arch from the tail lights going over to the trunk lid, gives it a better appearance in stance and a more aggressive look imo

Drop

My ZCP came with an additional 10MM drop from the factory. I think 40 would be dangerous! Especially in the North East. Ouch!!

Yeah exactly. maybe in Arizona this is OK but anywhere on the eastern seaboard you're going to have issues.

I was thinking 15-20 front and like 10 rear. I like a touch of rake.

I dont hate it, but it looks too plastic to me. Almost like BMW wanted to make it that way for kids...

Forget about the color. Look at the bumpers and compare it with this M2. Look at the overal design language and look at the square M2.

Not a Porsche guy but this is how a car should look like. Not like a Lego car.

Yeah, everyone knows that boxy car design is just absolutely terrible. Every car needs to be rounded like a 911.
