Same same. I’m giving my order until June for an allocation then I’m bailing. I already forfeited a 2023 Camaro SS 1LE for this M2 when I deposited, but if by summer I’m still in limbo I’m going to jump ship and just get a 1LE before they are discontinued. I get that volume dealers get more allocations but at what point do eyebrows raise when the average dealership is still waiting for their first.

Reassuring to see that I’m not the only one still waiting for the first allocation nonetheless. Just odd since my dealership isn’t in the middle of a cornfield and has decent volume sales.

I got my name on the waiting list a few weeks back. The dealer submitted it into the order bank. I'm number 22 on the list. It's going to be a long wait. This is my 1st BMW.

CT4 or CT5?

In general, I dont think I would go that far. In my opinion, its just a glorified Caddy.

I don't know, man. Every review I've read says the CT4 BW is the best driving sports sedan on the market and usually explicitly mentions that it's better than the M3.

I wouldn't buy one because I don't think it's very attractive and I just can't get over the baggage of "Cadillac," but it seems to be a hell of a car.

Maybe the M2's smaller size will help it surpass the CT4 BW, but at the moment, Cadillac seems to own the segment from a performance perspective.

I think there articles supporting each but well biased. Comparing parts/setup, BMW for the win (especially with the CT4).

I also think the 2023 M2 will need a live review before any accurate comparisons are published.

I’ve been in the first spot at my local medium sized dealership, but it seems like most dealerships are already way past their first allocation and I’m starting to think mine was lying about my position. Or at least it seems like a lot of people online are already on #2-4 allocation.

USA if that matters.
I’m 4th at my dealership but I was told a week ago none of the one’s in front of me had an allocation.

I’ll use actual VIR track times to prove CT4 BW will be faster than the G87 M2 without new reviews. CT4BW ran 1 sec slower than a 2022 M4 comp-x around VIR. Last time I check, that car does 0-60 in less than 3 secs. M2 getting anywhere near the CT4BW in track time will make it faster around the track than a standard m3/4. I highly doubt bean counters will allow that. Just for reference, F87 comp ran 5 secs slower than CT4BW. I agree G87 will have way nicer interior and a better engine, but it won’t have the handling of the caddy. I also think the caddy was a manual they did in the testing. CT5BW is in a diff league. Posted times 4 secs faster than m4 comp-x, only 2 secs slower than new m4 CSL.

I’m talking about the Blackwings. The black wings have diff suspension, differ, brakes, tranny and engine than standard ct4 or ct5. Since m3 and m4 share the clar architecture even though they have diff engine, suspension, brakes from a m340 or m440, your comment would say they are just plain bmws. Maybe they are since literally everything has a M symbol now. Only visual thing that separated a blackwing from a CT5V was a black exhaust tip and some silver metal tab on the seat. It was wierd. Until they mailed out blackwing badges to owners to separate the car a bit more.

Got a CT5 BW.

I agree, but from a pure argument standpoint, if you remove the driver from the equation, m2 will be a slower car than a CT4BW. One company chased to built the ultimate sports sedan for the driver engagement, other built a m car at a price point. Guess many have said m cars have lost some of their driver engagement.

I’m sure but atom is now in the mid 80s. Maybe we should say a Porsche GT3 RS. Heck why not just say a formula 1 car. Maybe we get back to the discussion of a car in the mid 60s you can drive as a daily.

driver engagement

I don't know if a Caddy will beat a manual M2 in terms of driver engagement. Maybe. Thats a sick time around that track. What about fit and finish? How well do you think that Caddy will hold up after 5 yrs. Would you buy a used one? I don't think so.

I hear the steering rack on the caddy and the mag ride is better than the bmw. The manual is way better. Result, a more engaging drive. I haven’t found one article or person who has driven a CT4BW say it’s less engaging than the m3. With the m2 sharing a lot of platform, I believe it will have slightly diff behavior but similar muted engagement. Long term - have no clue but warranty on caddy is pretty long. Same question can he said if bmw. How many will keep a bmw pass 60-70k miles when gaskets on the motors start to leak.

CT4BW

Enjoy that CT4BW. I owned my e92 M3 for 11 yrs. no issue. Not 1. I then sold it for a NICE chunk of change last year. The new owner rents one of my garage bays. He loves it. Maybe you can do the same thing with that Caddy. For me its the M2 all day.

Based on your comments and bad mouthing BMW, why did you ever consider buying one and why are you posting here? Seems a little trollish...didnt get your allocation in the first two months so now the cars are crap and its all about a general motors car (and not even the CT5).
