Also that wide dash screen looks out of place in the M2.
Well that's not the case

Anyone figured out if iDrive 8 uses an OLED display?

I know officially the BMW i7 rear screen has 4K resolution but no confirmation if it's OLED, just conflicting reports on iD8..

Since the MY23 for m240i will change over to these idrive8 screens , it seems then m2 will automatically receive the same treatment unfortunately

Headlight vents must not be neccessary as they have been covered all during testing. Just a styling piece.

This render is a collaboration between Project_F87 and myself based on him seeing the car without camo. I took this render and tweaked it to more accurately depict the G87. Note, the car he saw was more of a light blue, similar to the 2002 Hommage. This still gives you a pretty good idea of what it'll look like.

So with that logic, the side vents for the GT3RS or GT2RS must not be useful either huh? They were always covered during testing and development also. Scarcely ever saw them open until the very end right before car reveal

Why cover and camo the interior? It's the same as all the other new Bimmers that are being released, or so it looks. Even the console appears the same. And of yeah, that steering wheel is on everything too.

Not saying they are not functional, just not necessary for months of testing.

992 GT3RS vents have be open during testing.

Literally in both of those pics, the vents are blocked off 😂 thanks for proving my point. I'm talking about the intake vents at the rear hips, not the front louvres

What makes you so sure? I hope you're right...the 7 wheel looks fantastic. I've been pleading for a D shaped wheel for years.

The dash layout has no business being in a sports car.
Just reeks of cost cutting.

Agreed...and it looks awful. My hopes of adding a new M car in this 50th year anniversary is quickly dwindling. M3/4 front grille, I find absolutely hideous, and now the M2 interior disappointment...along with the renders not doing much for me styling-wise.

Not hoping for recession, but when it comes, may have to look at used M2 CS's.

I agree which is why i will definitely be waiting for the LCI.I am hoping they change it to a more integrated look that suits a small sports car like the M2.

I'm surprised by the hate for the iD8 screen.
It's a beautiful, high resolution, curved screen. These cars are going for a more and more modern/minimalistic look. We're not going backwards here.
Go check out an i4. It's wonderful in that car and doesn't look out of place at all. Seems to me like the older crowd is apprehensive to change.

I for one would be disappointed if the car got the current gen G80 dash. I want the latest and greatest and this is it.

I follow this car about as closely as anyone out there and have not seen one report of this car being xDrive.

This new screen is far more costly than anything has used in the past. Cost cutting is the last thing this is. BMW is modernizing and this is what it looks like.
