i just sat in one and did a small test drive while in detroit....it feels neat inside, but the cockpit is fucking stupid, the exterior looks and feels plastic, the engine sounds great and feels like my M, but it still feels like a cheap GM sports car...id rather get an M5/m550 to get that v8 feel.. this will be a great CPO CAR..

I have absolutely no interest in a two ton sedan with awd, but it's cool that both exist.

They said it exhibited mid corner "push" but didn't want to say UNDERSTEER as not to upset GM

I saw one at a trade show a few days ago. It looks the part, but not fond of the sharp beak in front.

Saw one at Cars and Coffee this past weekend. Thought it looked okay, dark metallic grey paint looked good, still overly angular with odd proportions. Had a rear wing and some other aero bits, the interior looked very nice, lots of contrasting stitching, had alcantara wheel and door inserts and what not. I was telling myself, man, this is awfully upscale for a $60,000 Vette, then I looked at the sticker, $95,000 lol. Would never pay anywhere near that for a GM car, even if I do get a discount. No thank you.

That's if you load up with too many options IMO. Just give me a 2LT trim in orange w/red interior & the high wing. I'll customize the rest myself.

I sure hope the Z06 or ZR1 are not $200k MSRP.

I'm expecting the Z06 to be around 140-150 and the ZR1 to be 180+.

They'd sell six. The Z06 will remain safely under $100k (base) and the ZR1 will likely be around $125k.

I can't think of any car that seen a 50% increase in price. Especially when we already know that the base model barely increased in price.

Sorry, I meant with decent options. A stripper C8Z will be cheap for sure, but having seen a base model C8 already push close to 6 figures, the numbers I said are easily achievable.

Well yeah, just like you can build a six figure 718 or a 200k Carrera.

But the MAIN selling point of the C8 was that iTs OnLy 60 ThOuSaNd dollars. The fact that you can get a BASE model with almost 60% of it's value in options speaks volumes. I doubt the one I saw was maxed on options, and it was pushing 100k...

At 95k, it's no longer affordable. It's not a cheap super car. This is for the base model, the Z06 and ZR1 will be outrageously priced.

But the only performance options are the $5k Z51 package, the $1,895 Mag Ride, and being generous, the $2k sport bucket seats.

The rest is just fluff, like paying to stamp a Porsche crest in the headrests of a 718.

Options are for suckers, or best case, people who will keep the car long enough to not be concerned about the lost value on resale. Those $95k C8's will be worth exactly the same as a $70k C8 with the Z51 and Mag Ride in two or three years, someone will just get some extra leather trim for free.

Just trying to be annoying, with a 3LT, I only got to $86k, and that's with $400 orange seatbelts. You'd have to tick every check box to get to $95k, and then you'd have the equivalent of a $55k 320i.

$95k area is maxing it on options. As said above, 2LT with Z51 is really all ya need. Don't even need mag ride & don't need $2k seats

I never used the configurator, but I guess 95 would be damn near maxed. Either way, not maxing it, my build was approaching $80,000 with only 2-3 boxes checked. That's still way off the base price. For that money, I'd snag a used Gen V all day; infinitely better looking, has a man pedal, a V10 that'll make 650 wheel with a head/cam package, and a car that you don't see hundreds of per week. Done.

I was simply saying I doubt most people will be going for the base model with 0 options. At the end of the day, it's still a Corvette. The C8 is to Corvette what the GT350 is to Mustangs, in my eyes.

I'm not saying it's a bad car, it's just not for me, hence why I wouldn't consider getting rid of the M for it. There is obviously a large market out there for it, so I'm excited to see what people start doing to them, whether that be a more track focused setup, forced induction, radials, etc. In stock form, they bore the crap out of me.
