In NJ also and in same boat? Think we see cars at dealer this week?

Just posting a point of information. My tracked showed "ready for transport " for 3 weeks. It showed that until 12/12. When I checked on 12/13, it showed "In Transit". Four hours later I got a call from my dealer telling me to get my existing car ready for lease inspection and the ship would be at Baltimore on 12/16. The tracker missed all the steps between "Ready for Transport" and "In Transit". So be aware that the factory may not be posting all the stages of progress.

This messed me up because I had anticipated an early January delivery based on the slow progress , which would have given me adequate time to buy 2 used tires as my tread depth is too low for lease return. Now I have to rush to get everything done before Christmas.

Same here. I wonder why it's not going to Bayonne? I wouldn't expect the car this week as it has to clear Customs during a very busy time of year.

Get your tin foil hats ready. I think I have an idea, and I think it has to do with all the drones around NJ and now NYC.

This morning the US Nuclear Commission released a report saying they lost a bunch of nuclear material. There was a container of this material that was at Newark that they discovered was completely empty.

Over the weekend the president of the largest US based drone manufacturer said he thinks these drones were built to look for something on the ground, and that's what it seems like they're doing.

Now you take the fact that my car was stuck at the port for over a month, cars not going into Newark now when they usually would have, I'm starting to get really worried.

I live in the north shore of Long Island. Last night locally, there were some people saying one of these drones crashed, and the military was there with insturments to detect radiation and nuclear material. This was before the release of the report by the US Nuclear Commission.

Something really bad is going on. I do not like being on Long Island at all right now.

Not just in NJ, I spotted one of these drones in Texas this weekend.

As of 7:00PM EST on 12/16, it looks like the 17th will be a stretch based on current position. Maybe the 18th, IMHO.

Does anyone know how long it take to offload, clear customs, get inspected and then put on a truck to North Jersey? I have a bet with my salesman that I won't see it till New Years because of all the holiday breaks and freight traffic.

On the marine traffic website it says the 17th hopefully we will get there by then !
The problem now is how long before it gets clear from custom before they load it on the truck to Jersey!

My salesman in Wayne, NJ told me next week. The ship doesn't dock till tomorrow (12/17). Friday would be awfully fast.

What may work in our favor is that it's year-end and everyone in the chain needs to hit numbers, meaning the salesman, the dealership, BMWNA and BMW AG. They'll push as many cars as possible to dealerships to be signed by 12/31.
