I know what you mean. The Black Cap Chickadees are fearless and while I fill the feeder, they are buzzing all around me, landing on my head and shoulders and even dive into the bag. Impatient little shits. Watching them clown around is priceless.

Have you had any issues with glass panel humidors? I've tried several as I prefer to see inside for display, but I seem to always rapidly lose humidity or require much more frequent maintenance. Even handed my sticks and box over to my local shop to keep inside their walk-in humidor for him to "professionally" season the box and get things right. Started losing humidity control within a week or so. Must just be me getting crappy boxes! I've swapped over to fully enclosed (no glass) and have had much better luck.

Great question and I have been asked this a few times over the years.

I have owned @ 4 Humidors in over 25yrs. I did notice particularly on the brown one above and also a previous one with a glass window, they began losing humidity. What I researched was that the culprit can be a couple of things:
The areas around glass window but I believe TIME itself is the bigger culprit. What do I mean? As we know: heat, cold and humidity affect Wood. I am convinced that the Box and Wood itself by swelling and contracting over time, causes the Humidor to lose integrity. This causes precious humidity to escape from all around the openings, lids and drawers.

Thanks! I have tried countless 'sticks' as I refer to them over many years. Although I have a few preferred brands, I like to switch it up and try different ones. Of course, A nice Rum or Cognac is always in hand.

Lightbulb

I also wanted to point out these very interesting and very aromatic brands from my collection above:

Deadwood Sweet Jane by Drew Estate
Dunbarton

Dunbarton made their mark in Pipe Tobacco. As you may know, Pipe Tobacco is very sweet smelling and IMO just nice pleasant aromas. I've tried other so-called pipe cigars. These are amazing and worth your try!

Whereas the Deadwood Sweet Jane is a very Limited Edition variety from Drew Estate. It is infused with flavors and notes of Vanilla, Chocolate, Leather.

Oil change time for the BMW and mom's car. I called my local Mercedes dealer to see what they charge for JUST an oil change. $220.... That's wild for only an oil change. I can change both the BMW and Mercedes oil for less than that

Mercedes does their services as "Service A" and "Service B" based on miles. They don't just do an oil change. Both include oil changes, plus other stuff. Service B usually includes transmission fluid, and most of the stuff that would be under a traditional 60K mile service for any other manufacturer.

TL;dr if your mom's Mercedes is still under warranty, make sure that they do the complete Service A/B as required or bad things will happen if it ever needs warranty work.

Oh, and if they are only asking $220 for a Service A then it is a bargain.....

Nope, her car is out of warranty. It's $220 for just an oil change...

Check out BMW's service special. Three years, unlimited oil changes (based on the car's cbs) for about $225.

I recently had my 2021 X5 in for just an oil change. I was quoted $160-190 (I forget) which was higher than Quicky Lube or the like but since they also detail the car and a real mechanic does the job I'm OK with it. Of course they also discovered it needed brake fluid flush and change and 4 wheel alignment for $1100. On a car with 28K miles that sits in a garage most days.

Any other EDC nerds here? Trying to decide between these two keychain tools. The Victorinox is smaller and easier to “deploy” but the Leatheman’s tools are beefier. The knife is longer the scissors are bigger etc. Thoughts?
