Agreed...and it looks awful. My hopes of adding a new M car in this 50th year anniversary is quickly dwindling. M3/4 front grille, I find absolutely hideous, and now the M2 interior disappointment...along with the renders not doing much for me styling-wise.

Not hoping for recession, but when it comes, may have to look at used M2 CS's.

I agree which is why i will definitely be waiting for the LCI.I am hoping they change it to a more integrated look that suits a small sports car like the M2.

I'm surprised by the hate for the iD8 screen.
It's a beautiful, high resolution, curved screen. These cars are going for a more and more modern/minimalistic look. We're not going backwards here.
Go check out an i4. It's wonderful in that car and doesn't look out of place at all. Seems to me like the older crowd is apprehensive to change.

I for one would be disappointed if the car got the current gen G80 dash. I want the latest and greatest and this is it.

I follow this car about as closely as anyone out there and have not seen one report of this car being xDrive.

This new screen is far more costly than anything has used in the past. Cost cutting is the last thing this is. BMW is modernizing and this is what it looks like.

We haven't seen how the proportions work in the 2 series yet, which seems to be a bit of a concern for many - as even in the much wider X7 LCI, the implementation of the curved display is a bit odd.

There also may be some special stitching or other M specific items they're holding back.

Sports Cars are typically interpreted as something you drive seriously while focusing on the road ahead not the contents of the interior

I would say the cost cutting part is that everything rides on the same platform, has the same tranny, a shared engine and the same electronics and interior across the board. While the component may be more expensive... the idea here is cost cutting as is getting rid of individual buttons everywhere. This also has to do with ease of manufacturing.

Well one screen and less physical buttons would mean less distractions and more enjoying the drive, no?

I honestly don't want to offend anyone but is there perhaps an age thing with the M cars from people who had older M's or just been on this earth longer and got used to BMW's? I mean i'm 33 so not that young but never owned an M or anything fancy but i for one absolutely love the screens and always been jealous of the Mercedes screen setup and the fluidity of their interface. I only got my M2 comp and won't change it until i see the car mostly for the final look of it. I would only replace my M2 if it's as good looking, aggressive beauty. One thing i know now, i am in deep love with my M2.

I have seen the screen in the i4 and i didn't like the look of it.Definitely looks better then in the iX because it doesn't have as big of a gap between the screen and the dash but it is still poorly designed. Its basically just a long flat screen stuck on a dash.

The look of the dash isn't the only problem.Another huge issue is that they use a very angular ugly design for the gauges. Why not allow users a choice for nice round sporty looking gauges. It wouldn't be hard to integrate some options into the software for the screen.

Well we haven't exactly seen what the gauges will look like yet since this will be the first M car with the iD8. Hoping it is less angular and more traditional in that sense.

Yeah I think age definitely has a lot to do with it. I'm 35 so in pretty much the same boat as you and I love the new screen. I was a little skeptical about it but when I got in an i4 I thought it was fantastic.

I would've been bummed if it had the same interior layout as a 2019 330. Not saying that its not a good looking interior, but if I'm buying a 2023 I want a FRESH design inside and out.

Don't know why everyone is so concerned about the screen. Literally every automaker is adding screens everywhere.

I'm more offended by the new 7 series and iX than a couple of screens but that's just my opinion

Each to his own I guess. I've seen lately the reviews for the i4 and the screen looks awkwardly mounted with some weird out of place bases:

Looks like they retro fitted the screens in the current G80 dash and they came up with these solution to mount them, they don't look organic and natural, looks like a hack mount.

I think Mercedes is making a way better job at fitting the screens:

Honestly I rather prefer the G80/G82/G83 dash. But again, just my opinion, I know a lot of people will love those screens and having the latest iDrive.

Anyone notice the wheels?

They look like the 825m wheels offered on the G8X except in gloss black...which isn't offered. I wonder if these are the future G87 wheels. Also good to see some meaty Michelins on there.

Yea, It's a "sports cars" which more than 50% of its buyers will get it in an automatic to play with paddle shifters like they are operating a Gameboy, while on their way to pick up their kids or get groceries..

If one is looking for a proper sports car, there are endless options out there to choose from that can better scratch that inch. As far as I see, this is just a souped-up 2 Series that can still be had in a manual - BMW's one and only saving grace..

I, for one, welcome the new iDrive 8 technology, where the display is now rich in color saturation and contrast and word on the street is it mimics Tesla's interface, where a lot of the APPs are native to the system, such as Spotify or HBO Max, which can operate independently without being tethered to a cell phone. Cool stuff..
