Just want to add the C7 Z06 here. I can fit a 153cm wide snowboard in the trunk diagonally. Also, people who have not had these cars don't realize the massive trunk space. I used my car to move, I was able to fit a folded coffee table, 2 chairs and a full size vacuum in the trunk lol.

The fact that that is one of your must haves & is enough to pass on a car = I'm not counting you.
You don't have any idea how I use my car, so you can't really judge what's important. I'll leave it like that.

Oh thank god. The stock exhaust is horrible. Porsche, Chevrolet and others using square tips should be fined.

Next that needs to go is that awful wing. Funny how Chevy finally comes to their senses and kills the tacky polished wheels but then appeases the gold chain brigade with the JC Whitney wing.

Saw my first c8 vette today at a neighbors house. Looked great in person, especially the side profile.

After seeing this rapid blue one and the aftermarket exhaust with round tips posted above, I'm pretty pumped to get one eventually. The square exhaust tips are hideous, no idea what they were thinking. The round ones that stick out with staggered setup look 1000x better

C8 vs GT500 drag race

10.7 sec for GT500
11.6 sec for C8

I do think that G80 will be good competition and with some modes they can't touch it.

That feature is not needed. Can you not drive the car yourself? Pay attention to the road?

We're not talking about "needs" here. If we were, we would be talking about 12 year old Honda Civics.

You said that cars without ACC were not in consideration for you. That implies you need it.

Your implication is flawed. Read up the thread. I used the word "important." Further, ACC is a feature I "demand" when shopping for a new car. Of course I don't "need" ACC just as I don't "need" a new BMW or Corvette at all! A 2006 Honda Civic would get me to where I need to be.

Virus

Virus talk by UAW means they want to shut down all plants for at least 2 weeks.
Wonder how that will change production schedules. Would later ones be pushed to 2021 model ? For same price ? Virus is going to mess things up,I am afraid.

I hate the small wing on this car... the higher wing is better but still kind of meh. I like how the car looks wingless but I'm sure the wing does help somewhat with downforce. Will be nice to see what the aftermarket comes up with.

New/no wing, new wheels and better-looking exhaust like the Magnaflow and the C8 looks infinitely better.

I like the smaller wing, pass on the larger, want to see some nice CCW Five spoke wheels with maybe wider rubber, magna exhaust is better sounding and looks a lot nicer then the stock tips and most importantly for me I’m waiting to see who comes up with a S/C first and how much it puts down. Might go that route instead of waiting for the Z version.

Copied this vid from the SOUL thread, didn't wanna pollute their promo. I'm curious as to what's up with the weird shifts. You can hear most are nice crisp DCT kicks, but the occasional few sort of hesitate, it sounds like a high rpm stall, and then it grabs the next gear. Anyone else notice this?

I thought he was hitting the brakes abruptly to keep from going crazy speeds, so it was downshifting quick, perhaps right after an upshift.

At 0:49 in the in-car cam, you can get a good reference for what is going on. Seems to me like he is full on the go-pedal, it's just hesitating on the upshift.

Also, after paying closer attention, it does not seem that the C8 in SOUL's video is past the 500 mile "break in" or whatever it's called. The RPM limit is not near 7000 as it should be, but rather closed to 5000. This COULD be, and most likely is, the reason for the weird shifts.

If you look in the video, you see the brake lights right at the end before that in-cockpit segment, and when he gets to the same point in-cockpit, it sure seems like he's hit the brakes, engine winds down, trans downshifts. I'd put money on it, given the brake lights, he's braking to keep from reaching insane triple digit speeds on a public road. Car downshifting to stay "ready", as I would expect a trans of that caliber to.
