Yesterday I used chemical guys honeydew. Car wasn't super dirty except for the wheels covered with brake dust. I use P&S brake buster for my wheels. Not my favorite foam but I'm trying to get rid of the big bottle I have. Typically I will use Adams mega foam.

I checked this today. At a constant 60mph, 70 mph and 80 mph. At all speeds, no change in revs or gear going from eco poo to comfort. Conclusion, drive mode doesn’t matter at a constant speed but drivetrain and transmission characteristics will come into play should you wish to accelerate. At 60 and 70mph, going from comfort to sport dropped a gear and increased revs i.e. engine preps for acceleration and stays there. If you are in sport and then select 8M. It stays in 8. At 80mph from comfort to sport, no change in revs or gear. You’re in 8. Conclusion, drive mode doesn’t matter at a constant speed but drivetrain and transmission characteristics will come into play should you wish to accelerate ( obvs gear won’t make a difference as you are already in top gear) |

Yesterday I put on my new winter wheels/tires for the first time. (Apex SM-10s with Vredesteins). It’s supposed to snow on Tuesday…the first the car might see.
Found one of the directional tires was on backwards That was annoying. I had to go get that flipped. But what was really alarming was how loose all the lug nuts were as delivered. They are supposed to be 101 ft lb. But they had to have been about 50. The locking lugs were practically hand tight. I put 400 break-in miles on it like that. I’m just wondering whose fault that was. |

However I’ve not done any testing to verify if there are or aren’t any RPM changes between the drive modes. |

My kit definitely looks gloss black and not a bad match to factory, it does get dirty quickly and needs some detailing spray to bring the shine back

switched out my cerium mirror caps with gloss black ones. attempted to change out the paddle shifters but could not get the airbag off the steering wheel. all the youtube videos on it make it seems so simple like the airbag just pops right off but i gave up after finagling for about an hour.
mirror cap replacement was simple, the anxiety of breaking pieces was the hardest part. next on my list is an oil change and installing my gloss black front splitters as well as replacing the cerium triangular inlets with gloss black. once the weather gets warmer ill change out my rear spoiler with gloss black cs style that i ordered and is collecting dust. any tips on how to get the airbag off that the youtubers are not offering would be greatly appreciated. |

grooveK I hear you, I had the same experience but kept at it and eventually got it to pop, you just need to keep feeling around in there and you’ll get it.

Me too. But at 78 and thinking about all the cars...Just better to not go there, ever. |

Can you mark with a line on the picture how the tool is supposed to slide through the hole and release the clips? Like the angle and where it disengages. That’ll help even more. Thanks!

Basically you're feeling for these two vertical wires, and you push them with a screwdriver/allen wrench. You can see the channel just above and below where the wires travel when pushed. Yellow arrows for channels for screwdriver/allen wrench. Took me around an our to get the blasted airbag off. Last edited by Prince Thundernight; 02-13-2024 at 10:27 AM.. |

First orientate your flathead (slot) screwdriver like this - you want to make contact with the retaining spring at a right angle. This is after the AB has been removed but will show you what you actually need to move to release it - orientate your screwdriver as above and insert it into the hole below the wheel spoke - you should feel the "bouncy" resistance of the spring - push the spring towards the center of the wheel. The spring should move in the direction of the yellow arrow and the AB wil pop forward a few mm (1/4"). Do the same on the other side and then use your screwdriver to release the connector circled and the AB will come away. Hope this helps! |
