If they were the same price in the US, I would have a real hard time not leaning in the direction of a GTS 4.0. But in reality, the “conservative” spec I build in a GTS is $102k - and that’s only adding shark blue and sport seat to the base spec. On the flip side my spec for the M2 can include some extras like a carbon roof and still be $68k When you look around there are a good number of sports cars in the $100k area that are amazing performers. What you cannot say is that there are a ton of interesting, solid performing cars that start in the $60k range anymore |

More than the length, I would consider the wheelbase as a benchmark.
The G87 sits between the E46 and the E92. |

if we want to go analogue, a manual parking brake I can actual lift up and feel is more analogue. A hydraulic braking system is more analogue than G87 brake by wire Not having a screen in your face at all times with a new school space ship design UI instead of a "digital" but still analogue looking gauge cluster is more analogue feel. (Porsche still does this correctly) A "Drift analyzer" gimmick that gives you 10 stars every time the back steps out a split second and tells you you're a formula drifter is less analogue. Etc... Ever heard the phrase clichés are cliché for a reason? Last edited by M2C2020; 09-28-2023 at 11:53 AM.. |

But if lifting the handbrake makes you feel analogue (?!) and happy, I have already understood the level of this conversation and will not continue. Yes I dislike the id8, but id6 doesn't make the F87 an analog car. |

Yes 100% of people with brains agree a manual hand brake is more analogue than a literal electronic button that you'll be second guessing you pulled sorry "pushed" after you park. Do you want to touch on my other cliché not real points? All I did was call BS on your post attacking me saying "I have no idea what I'm talking about" and showed concise clear examples of what is more analogue. I told everyone to enjoy whatever car they get both are great one isn't for me. You apparently can't sit with the fact that the car is not "FOR ME" part. Enjoy your day and whatever car you drive thanks. Last edited by M2C2020; 09-28-2023 at 12:36 PM.. |

how many more threads do you need to chime in on and posts do you need to make for us to sufficiently understand that you don't like the G87 and prefer your F87? |

I never attacked you in any of my posts, what is probably hard for someone "with a brain" like you to understand is that this is the thread to post and discuss - both positively and negatively - M2 G87 online reviews (full list on the first page), the thread for handbrake enthusiasts should be somewhere else. FYI, I had an M2C and I am proud that I no longer belong to that race. |

One post I made, one responding to a post I agreed with and was criticized and basically called an idiot so I'll call bs and point out what needed to be pointed out. I'm done enjoy your BRZ or G87 you probably haven't even driven that's on order.

"I laugh when I read that the F87 is 'old school', 'purist', 'analogue' and so on. The influence of the media and clichés puts terms into people's mouths that they have no idea about. It's cyclically the same old nursery rhyme that the old owners say when a new M comes out, and again no exception. Just say that you don't like and move on, no? I'm pretty sure the same will be said about the G87 when the next M2 comes out, whether electric, coal or plutonium powered, the previous one will be for the last 'pure' M for some strange reason." |

All we do is review each other's replies to each other now, apparently.
But, no, we are mid-cycle now, no reason to expect a lot of reviews for the remainder of this model year. And since the changes for MY24 are trivial, I don't expect a lot for them, either. |

It's a heck of an attractive price if you think about it as the traditional early 2000s M3. The current M3 is now roughly the size and price of an E39. G87 M2 is the closest ever that BMW has come to the traditional M3 formula in the F/G generations. Win, win, win.

For 65k today you can get an M2 in the US, or a full optional 230i in Europe, what you needed for a base M3 E92 at the time. |

The G87 performance wise matches the F87 CS - so you need to compare these 2, not OG F87. I think G87 is a bargain. As much as I hate the idea of spending US$80K (with the options and taxes) on a small coupe, compared to spending $110K on an F87 CS 2 years ago or $110K on a Cayman GTS 4.0, it is a good deal.
