It still boggles my mind a bit that they are even in the same price realm in Europe though. Lucky bastards. I totally get it, I would take a GT4 too if they were comparable in price out here in the US but they just aren't.
I had no idea how similar in price the GTS and M2 are in Europe either. Watching in of the reviews, I kept saying out loud - the Porsche is $100k how is this a comparison?

If they were the same price in the US, I would have a real hard time not leaning in the direction of a GTS 4.0. But in reality, the “conservative” spec I build in a GTS is $102k - and that’s only adding shark blue and sport seat to the base spec.

On the flip side my spec for the M2 can include some extras like a carbon roof and still be $68k

When you look around there are a good number of sports cars in the $100k area that are amazing performers. What you cannot say is that there are a ton of interesting, solid performing cars that start in the $60k range anymore

I'm coming directly from E92 M3. G87 was a no brainer for me. Perfect fit. Big shock for guys coming from smaller cars.

More than the length, I would consider the wheelbase as a benchmark.
The G87 sits between the E46 and the E92.

The influence of the media and clichés puts terms into people's mouths that they have no idea about.
It's cyclically the same old nursery rhyme that the old owners say when a new M comes out, and again no exception. Just say that you don't like and move on, no?
I'm pretty sure the same will be said about the G87 when the next M2 comes out, whether electric, coal or plutonium powered, the previous one will be for the last 'pure' M for some strange reason.
What is wrong again with me expressing my opinion and decision when I was in the market for both of these cars? Does it really upset you that much that someone would prefer a different model than yours if that's why you're getting or have one? Does that effect the way you feel about your own car? Then that car is not for you or you care what people think too much. Different strokes for different folks.

if we want to go analogue, a manual parking brake I can actual lift up and feel is more analogue.
A hydraulic braking system is more analogue than G87 brake by wire
Not having a screen in your face at all times with a new school space ship design UI instead of a "digital" but still analogue looking gauge cluster is more analogue feel. (Porsche still does this correctly)
A "Drift analyzer" gimmick that gives you 10 stars every time the back steps out a split second and tells you you're a formula drifter is less analogue.
Etc...

Ever heard the phrase clichés are cliché for a reason?

The only one upset seems to be you.
But if lifting the handbrake makes you feel analogue (?!) and happy, I have already understood the level of this conversation and will not continue.

Yes I dislike the id8, but id6 doesn't make the F87 an analog car.

Lol classic "gets emotional" than deflects it back like the guy he's attacking is "emotional" I literally did nothing but state my own opinions which are based on driving both cars and what do you know they fall in line with 99% of reviewers surprise!

Yes 100% of people with brains agree a manual hand brake is more analogue than a literal electronic button that you'll be second guessing you pulled sorry "pushed" after you park. Do you want to touch on my other cliché not real points?

All I did was call BS on your post attacking me saying "I have no idea what I'm talking about" and showed concise clear examples of what is more analogue. I told everyone to enjoy whatever car they get both are great one isn't for me. You apparently can't sit with the fact that the car is not "FOR ME" part. Enjoy your day and whatever car you drive thanks.

the only one coming off as emotional is you at this point.

how many more threads do you need to chime in on and posts do you need to make for us to sufficiently understand that you don't like the G87 and prefer your F87?

You must have had a very bad childhood and probably still believe in ghosts.
I never attacked you in any of my posts, what is probably hard for someone "with a brain" like you to understand is that this is the thread to post and discuss - both positively and negatively - M2 G87 online reviews (full list on the first page), the thread for handbrake enthusiasts should be somewhere else.

FYI, I had an M2C and I am proud that I no longer belong to that race.

One post I made, one responding to a post I agreed with and was criticized and basically called an idiot so I'll call bs and point out what needed to be pointed out. I'm done enjoy your BRZ or G87 you probably haven't even driven that's on order.

Sorry I realized I'm in the wrong thread honestly it's "cry about negative reviews thread" I'll find a new one. You know what you said under my post bye.

All we do is review each other's replies to each other now, apparently.

But, no, we are mid-cycle now, no reason to expect a lot of reviews for the remainder of this model year. And since the changes for MY24 are trivial, I don't expect a lot for them, either.

Yes, and there is only a fraction of an inch between them. The M2 is a bit wider to fit the bigger tires, but other than that has the traditional E46/E92 M3 size.

It's a heck of an attractive price if you think about it as the traditional early 2000s M3.

The current M3 is now roughly the size and price of an E39.

G87 M2 is the closest ever that BMW has come to the traditional M3 formula in the F/G generations. Win, win, win.

Unfortunately, overseas the price has grown in step with the size, and although it is pointless to compare prices of cars 20 years apart (inflation and so on), suffice it to say that an M2 G87 costs about 30/40% more than an F87.
For 65k today you can get an M2 in the US, or a full optional 230i in Europe, what you needed for a base M3 E92 at the time.

Are you talking inflation adjusted figures or just nominal figures?

The G87 performance wise matches the F87 CS - so you need to compare these 2, not OG F87. I think G87 is a bargain.

As much as I hate the idea of spending US$80K (with the options and taxes) on a small coupe, compared to spending $110K on an F87 CS 2 years ago or $110K on a Cayman GTS 4.0, it is a good deal.
