The G87 performance wise matches the F87 CS - so you need to compare these 2, not OG F87. I think G87 is a bargain.

As much as I hate the idea of spending US$80K (with the options and taxes) on a small coupe, compared to spending $110K on an F87 CS 2 years ago or $110K on a Cayman GTS 4.0, it is a good deal.

I agree about the performance improvement, but the G87 is the base M2 and the cheapest M2 you can get, and it is much more expensive than the cheapest M2 before.

This is well thought out opinion from Autoweek in the USA. You tube know it all ego trash offer nothing close overall. Not specific to the M2 design but related in the overall sense of BMWs design efforts and future.

It’s hard to take any comments these guys make as anything more than entertainment value.

It’s amazing how a bunch of reviewers say the G87 is too buttoned down and less fun, then these guys and others say it is mental ang goes sideways all the time with TC off.

That tells me it is a great car that will react well to driver input.

As soon as I (we) get the car reviews will be forgotten. I just watch them now because mine is not built yet.

The current G87 is a replacement for the F87 Comp in terms of spec and overall philosophy, and in that comparison the G87 is actually cheaper when factoring inflation. At least in the US

All these youtube reviews are self fulling prophecies. Every single video says the same shit…. M2 ugly, hate the color, no steering feel, fl5 > g87. Yet the m2 is turning out better ring times than the fl5 ctr.

Many of us don’t have access to the cars yet and so the legend continues to grow from hearsay. I think that’s a shame. We are entering the last ERA of ICE and the reviewers are all focusing on the past. We should be celebrating the fact that BMW still giving us a choice of a 2 dr 4 seats 460hp rwd manual car for $64k. Buy them while you still can.

Good overall review from Moto-Man. I don't know if he did it on purpose, but he filled the car with AKI 87 instead of 93, which was also available at the pump he used (you can see near the end that he paid $3.339 per gallon, as shown as the 87 price), definitely a no-no.
