For some reason, BMW treats the manual tranny as their red-headed stepchild, it always takes a backseat when it comes to new innovation. . |

Reports BMW involved with new Supra MT development. Maybe G87 related too??
https://www.thedrive.com/news/the-to...w-unit-from-zf & maybe S58 Supra: https://www.bmwblog.com/2022/04/06/t...mw-s58-engine/ Last edited by BMWGirlFL; 05-08-2022 at 09:29 PM.. |

M2 will get a detuned S58 for both the base as well as the competition model. It makes no sense for BMW to give Toyota their top of the line 503hp S58 variant, but not the M2. They also wouldn't want the Supra potentially cannibalizing M2 sales. |

So apparently some press/journalists will be driving camo'd prototypes of the M2 in a few days but there will be an embargo until mid June.

69 pages of joy and excitement
Irrespective of when, all will be revealed in good time Here's hoping it'll be to everyone's liking 🤞 or at least majority of people because you can never please all of the people, all of the time

I guess that's a matter of perspective, 'cause I see like 68 pages of whining and moaning over trivial nonsense..
Now that complaints about the lack of physical buttons is subsiding, I bet that the next grievance is on the appearance of the rear floating brake calipers or I might hedge on lack of an AWD or DCT option. It's coming and this bus is never late.. 😗 |

That'll most likely be the M4 CSL, which I believe goes into production in August.

That video is hilarious, he practically admits they couldn't 'afford' to come up with another braking system but does leave the door open to a future development. This is the type of stuff that gets under my skin. Single piston cast iron floating calipers on an M car? For shame.
