after installing the front splitter and black mirror caps, i got the itch to just get the rear spoiler done and finished it up yesterday. it was a relatively simple process. getting the adhesive residue off with the caramel wheel was probably the most time consuming since i was going slow as to not fuck my paint up.
fitment is great. its slightly, like 1mm offset but im so far fine with it because its not noticeable and because i installed it myself. if i paid someone to do it then id be more bothered. all i have left are the winglets and replacing the cerium air inlets with shadowline ones. last photo is from doing a quick grocery run, while looking back, saw that the car was just glowing and had to take a photo haha. SIDE QUESTION: after removing the spoiler adhesive, i did a quick micro-polish (lightly) where the old spoiler was to tidy up the rubber and microblemishes. do i need to re-ceramic the small overlap areas that the new spoiler is not covering that i micro-polished? i sprayed some water on it and its behaving normally from what i could tell, and it was only micropolish so im thinking it might not be strong enough to strip any ceramic that i previously laid down. |

replying to my own question, i went ahead and re-ceramic'd the area around the spoiler just in case just now. peace of mind is worth the little extra effort. (for anyone curious, i used kamikaze ism 3.0 for my ceramic coating... amazing so far).

You think we’re done with the snow? I’ve been thinking about doing this too. Mid-March….a little early but not by much. Lol my winter set probably saw a total of 1/8” of snow, and that was one morning.

I think snow is done, but it is the low temps that keep me questioning if it is time yet, driving the summer tires below freezing with all the cold morninings, not there yet.

Yeah looking at the week ahead it looks like it's dipping back to low 40s high 30s so I'll keep my winters on for another week. At least it got me to get my summer wheels coated. Ha. I was just getting annoyed driving in 65 degrees in my Michelin x-ice knowing I'm just burning through them.

Bought the illuminated headrest badges a few months ago. The looms were kindly fitted by Ndil a couple of weeks ago. For such a small mod they really finished the car off.
The fitment of loom is spot on, absolutely no issues. I’ve got the 2023 model without ambient lighting under the seats so requires an additional loom to connect to the ambient lighting under the dash. The badges are permanently illuminated whilst the car is on and switch off a few mins after the car is locked. I also added the AliExpress Carbon inlays a while back. |
