Only a ~4.6% increase, even with current inflation.
I don't see where an almost 11% increase in msrp is justified for G87 Base over a 2020 F87 Competition.
Yes, G87 is getting adaptive dampers standard. But it also has possibility of losing the M4 standard seats. Cost cutting metal strut brace vs F87 beautiful carbon piece. Anything expensive will be an option...carbon roof, carbon buckets, merino leather, etc. Where are the big ticket items that warrants such a msrp jump. Inflation isn't the answer, because the M240i pricing doesn't show that.
Using G42 premium over F22(4.6%). G87 Base msrp - $61,610
BMW is going make their money with more options. Check the boxes for carbon buckets, merino leather, carbon roof, exec pack, paint...you are well into $70k. $10k+ over what anyone could spec a F87 M2C to.

This is my exact thoughts. MSRP will stay in line and the catch will be the shift from almost no options to way too many, which is unfortunate. I like the idea of all those driver assist things being an option but wished that (like the M3$ the CF roof was a no cost option and just part of the idea of owning an M car.
