Wheels are 20 front and 21 rear! I am not sure about the tires, but I strongly believe these are 285/30 front and 295/25 rear, like my 1000M.

Quick question for those of you who had the OEM HAS port installed. Where did they place the sticker? Can you post a picture? The dealer left the sticker in the car for me and I want to make sure I put it in the right place.

It is usually affixed inside the driver’s door jamb. I believe cmgbk75 has previously posted a photo of it?

KW updated their site and social medias with M2 info...but no mention of the HAS kit. Just the V3/V4 and their variants.

With the same number part as the kit for M3/M4.

and KW just confirmed it's the same part number.

Unrelated, but I'm starting to look into AST ALS (adjustable lowering springs).

Although I rarely adjust the height (have had coilovers on my last 3 cars), I want the adjustable for a couple of reasons.

Biggest one being there isn't a spring that has been specifically designed for this car. The rear wheel gap for the G80 is quite minimal while for our car it's monumental. I don't want to put springs on and not have a good looking drop and then be stuck with it.

With an adjustable setup obviously I can fine tune it to how I like...and AST seems to have a wider range of height.

What a disappointment from KW.
At this point we might as well go MP HAS, the KW only lower by 5 mm more at the front, same at the rear, not such a difference as to justify any hassle with the warranty.

That's why I'm strongly considering AST now. $300 cheaper and more adjustability.

Just a heads up, the G87 M2 AST kit is also used on the G8X M3/M4 like KW, but has a bit more lowering range. We keep both in stock.

Haven't installed on G87 yet, but no problems on M3/M4.

Doubt there would be any problem or you would see widespread issues since most HAS manufacturers are following this direction, including coilovers.

Both the KW & H&R HAS/adjustable springs have had "blowout" issues on the M3/M4 (not widespread but enough to raise an eyebrow) which is what makes the port installed HAS so enticing and worth it (coming with the 4 year warranty).

In addition to the warranty, the M Performance HAS is not necessarily the same as the KW "retail" HAS (the kit BMW uses is put out by KW's OEM division).

I saw that thread some time ago. A forum post is a very small percentage of the overall production numbers, there's a good chance the strut failed due to improper or was damaged during install. For example, someone could've destroyed the seal using an impact gun on the strut nut (which should never be done) and spun the rod, so we're seeing things from only the OP's side at that time.

The BMW route isn't a bad idea if warranty is the greatest concern. However, usually its one of the more expensive routes and they won't lower as much as 3rd party manufacturers do, as some compromises are made to keep well inside that safety zone and I believe those also have a homologation process to pass. Aftermarket will push the envelope a bit more, but still remain in the safe zone - no reputable company is going to sell a product that isn't safe.

As with any new part, there are those that are ready to buy now and those that wait to see how XX kit performs before pulling the trigger. If more issues come forward, then that's certainly something to be worried about - but we've done quite a number of successful installs with KW, H&R and AST with no issues reported on our end. Since we're selling and installing kits, we'll be pretty well informed firsthand if it happens.

I have actually seen more than one post/instance about it and from different owners (in ither words, not the same car). Hell, it could be a one off defect or faulty installation, who knows.

It still doesn't change my stance that if a shock/strut fails with a HAS installed, I would still prefer to have the M Performance HAS port installed and it be covered under the full manufacturers warranty and no risk of warranty coverage being denied because of an aftermarket part.

Considering that no one, including BMW, has developed a specific kit for the M2, it can be assumed that the difference in OEM spring rates of the G87 compared to the M3/4 is very minimal.

I’m 100% doing this. I’m too old to flirt with f ing with the warranty after a lifetime of modded VAGS.
