My dad just went out the other day and played nine holes for the first time after his (second) knee replacement.
I asked him how it went, and he said he did pretty well. My response? "Just a few months after surgery and you're already playing better than Tiger Woods!" I'll see myself out. |

It's the same SUV that golfer Tiger Woods crashed in the Los Angeles area in February, crushing his legs and putting his career in jeopardy.
When the crash happened, the vehicle was so new that non-governmental, independent safety assessments had not yet been conducted on it. Now that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has had time to test it, the vehicle has been named as one of its Top Safety Pick+ recipients, scoring high marks on an assessment of its crashworthiness and crash prevention capability. https://www.usatoday.com/story/money...ck/4734226001/ In the early going, authorities suggested that Woods may have been driving at a high speed when he crashed. But the available evidence indicates that the famed golfer was not paying attention to the road and drifted off of it before crashing his car, three forensic car accident experts recently told USA TODAY Sports |

Just to update, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva:
"A cause has been determined, the investigation has concluded. We have reached out to Tiger Woods and his personnel, there’s some privacy issues on releasing information on the investigation so we’re going to ask them if they waive the privacy and then we will be able to do a full release on all the information regarding the accident." Reading between the lines, the cause is likely to do with Tiger Woods rather than the car, because if it had to do with the safety concern of the car it wouldn't be a privacy issue that they need Tiger Woods' permission to release. |

Pretty sure that if I drove that particular Genesis "into the rough" after attempting multiple barrel rolls, I'd have had urine and blood pulled for a tox screen so fast my head would be spinning.
But, Tiger goes airborne, rolls the damn thing (a few times), leaves a trail of destruction w/ no evidence of braking...... and the cops at the scene go "Noooo! It couldn't POSSIBLY have been toxicological. Not Tiger!" And give him a free pass even though he trashes the car and puts himself into the hospital. Like Orwell said-- "All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others." I find the whole thing mildly disgusting-- mostly because of the 600 lb. elephant in the room that he received preferential treatment- but nobody wants to call it for what it really is. I can't believe it all comes down to Tiger Woods as to whether the general public will ever know the full story. How is this normal? Like someone else said, if this were pretty much anyone else, we'd know exactly what happened by now.

Is the there a FOIA on civil cases in California? The Sheriff bungled this one big time when he said they would not pursue it.

I don't believe falling asleep or distracted driving constitutes anything 'privacy' related....
Most likely... HIPAA rules are in effect related to Rx (or other) chemicals at work. Clearly some type of inebriation {again} I'm guessing. |

The fact that details that have bene obtained and the root cause of this accident is allegedly known, it's adding more to this celebrity status treatment IMO.
