Cars with handbrakes that use the rear caliper as opposed to a separate drum-in-disc-hat parking brake also have single piston floating rear calipers with a cam that operates on the piston to clamp the brake on.
You and other members w/ similar level of knowledge, need to hang around more. I am sure I am not the only one appreciating your insight.

Thank you.

I guess something odd happened on my end. It never displayed right. Anyways… total disappointment realizing it’s a photoshop… that green car on the back confirms it. Oh, well. Hopefully there will be MORE real pictures soon.

Plenty of good shots in here.

It is not a technical impediment, it is basically a matter of cost, combining the e-brake with a multi-piston caliper requires more sophisticated engineering and a total redesign of the caliper, the 'old' caliper cannot be adapted to the e-brake.
The Panamera (as well as the 911 and other supercars) has this sophisticated solution, while the Macan - which shares many components with the cheaper Audi Q5 - has the single piston.
The only alternative would be to put a separate small caliper just for the parking brake, leaving the normal caliper just for the brakes (like the Giulia Quadrifoglio).

Thoughts on BG with gold/copper wheels? if powder coating is it better to start from Bi-Color or Black.

Basically all cars with the electric parking brake, excluding the more expensive supercars of course.
I think only the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio still has the four-piston rear calipers, but the integration of the electric parking brake is not something you can call good looking.

And I guess this adds to the unsprung weight on the Alfa

^^ That's gotta be the dinkiest rotor with a 4-piston caliper that I've ever seen.

Definitely choose the plain painted (black) wheel if you’re going to refinish. You don’t want to deal with the machined surfaces when refinishing.

Regardless of the factory finish they should be fully stripped prior to a color change. Any reputable shop will want to do so.

I suggest inquiring with Prince Wheels Services outside of Charlotte, NC. OT, They happen to be known internationally for replicating BMW’s chrome shadow finish perfectly.

Of course the paint needs to be stripped, but that’s irrelevant to the question. If you’re choosing one of the two available wheels for refinishing a solid color, then you want the one painted a solid color from the start. OP will see that any competent shop will provide the same guidance.

I hate to tell you, but some shops will cheap out by scuffing the top coat and simply color change over the top of it. I have personally seen the aftermath via multiple clients. You get what you pay for.

I know that most of us here believe that we are experts at literally everything, but when in doubt it is always best to go directly to the source versus inquiring with a bunch of strangers on a car forum as to what they think.
