Can't agree more…they just ruined one of the best looking BMW's (talking about the previous M2 model)
And those performance parts just makes it uglier and cheaper looking

Reminds me of Griff Tannen's 633CSI in Back to the Future II. Can't un-see it now.

Those side cill blades in front of the rear wheels are literally THE WORST after market pieces I have ever seen from any OEM.

Really good walk around of TR with performance parts

https://youtube.com/shorts/IHYqau07cks?feature=share

Edit: screen grab of the rear end - roof and rear spoiler - gives a good indication of looks and where they're placed. I'm thinking it's just adhesive?

Wow yea looks so good. I definitely want the carbon lower inserts, lip, and diffuser. Mirror caps as well. None of the other stuff though.

Yeah it looks really good bc of the shade. However when the cameraman returns at the end, you can see the rear quarter and door really show the orangeness of TR. Not a huge deal but it's def barely red.

I watched a couple videos this morning on performance parts. One from a reviewer at Essen show and one from BMWBlog with M2 Product Manager. In each video it was mentioned that certain performance parts can only be bought with others.

The one that really caught my attention was the M2 Product Manager stated explicitly that the rear wing must be purchased with the diffuser.

They also mentioned that the front wing and canard has to be paired with the rear canard/side skirt.

If you want the roof spoiler, you have to have the rear spoiler. And if you get the rear spoiler, you definitely need a diffuser change. Since I wanted the roof spoiler, I'm going to need to plunk down some serious dough.

PSA here - a la carte options are limited to interior items.

Sounds like marketing BS. I dontbsee when going to M Performance parts it doesnt allow me to order the items they currently have as individual purchases. I would expect to selection of items to expand significantly once the car is actually released in the US.

Oh, and that look alike WRX rear wing from the Essen...putridly hideous.

Too bad the company that makes this wing for the M3/M4 is not making for the M2 (no plans as of now to do so, either).

Yes, I can get one, too, however it doesnt fit the M2. My friend's shop deals with that company and installs them. They are quite pricey.

I saw the same video but I believe the product manager said you have to pair the MPerf exhaust with the diffuser since the MPerf exhaust design is different (center exhaust) which makes sense. I didn't get the sense that you _had_ to buy them in bundles except the exhaust + diffuser. Atleast from that video.
But then again the carbon pack in the US configurator forcing you to spend $2k on MDrivers pack is evidence that they can still end up doing something similar for the MPerformance parts...

It comes with special mounting hardware and my guess its setup and dimentions are not made for the 2 series trunk.

The cost for the wing, install kit and installation will run you well north if $5,000.

My question is this: which id any of the M performance parts are actually functional? 3E production race car rules in Australia allow us to run a factory or dealer option body kit or spoilers, but if it's just for looks, its just going to slow it down. Anyone know the answer? or is there any actual testing yet?
