Except it's already safe and sound where it needs to be. Taking it home means more track wrap and more risks of rock chips.

Feel like I just need to bite the bullet and wait. I'm pissed.
Did they give you any indication of wait time when you initially agreed to everything?

Not on the phone when I scheduled the appointment, but I didn't ask them specifically.

I had no idea until I brought them the car and gave them my keys.

My ppf shop informed me that they were booked up for two weeks but that when they got me in I was there for only three days. Going back today for paint fix.

That is shitty that they didn’t give any indication for wait.

I scheduled my ppf appt as soon as i knew my delivery date. They couldn't get me in until about 3 days after it was scheduled for delivery. I then delayed delivery by 3 days. Drove from dealership to ppf shop. Ppf, ceramic, tint and badging. That was a Monday morning. Picked her up Thursday afternoon so about 4 days.

They even required a $200 deposit to schedule my drop off which I assumed ensured me a spot to get some work in when I dropped it off.

Kind of at a loss at this point. I'd rather she be in my garage if it's waiting but I don't want to drive it around any more until it's got PPF

I was a bit floored when they told me it might be ready before the end of November, but possibly the first week of December, so 3-4 weeks.

Upon getting home I'm wondering, how much of that is just my car sitting there before they even work on it? I would probably rather take it there when they're ready to work on it, but then again I'm so scared to drive it until PPF anyways. I was hoping I'd have my car back next week but the waiting game continues

How much did it take to cover it? I need to do my roof-line too.

Edit: Saw you meant the Trackwrap. I actually used Track Armour instead of XPEL Tracwrap since I already had a roll of 6 " x 100'. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...e?ie=UTF8&th=1

Was able to cover my front bumper, hood, and front and rear fenders before running out

My full body PPF took 3-4 days, hand-cut (no template).

Thanks. I ordered 6"X40' and I'm not sure how far it will go now that I'm thinking about it.

I think this is about as much coverage as you can get with that 40' roll. Probably why he didn't get all of the hood or even all of the bumper.

That’s insane lol. I’m all for PPF (I have an appointment Thursday) but holy Jesus people are treating this thing like it’s a Bugatti!

I’ve driven my car 308 miles on the dot without PPF. My appointment includes paint correction and scratch buffs so I figured I’d drive while I decided on a full or track package. I decided to go full as my installer gave me a $1800 discount.

The only reason I’m doing a full PPF is just due to the terrible freeway rocks. If I didn’t use the freeway as much as I do, I probably would only PPF my CF roof as that’s the only piece that can not be fixed from rock or sun damage.

My installer is doing STEK. It’s less orange peel than XPEL. I think it’s just installer preference aside from less orange peel and ceramic pre applied on STEK.

I don't get the hate for taking precautions before getting PPF. Paint correcting some swirls is no big deal but a couple rock chips will cost a lot to get repaired and may not ever look right without a full respray. $50 trackwrap or even some painters tape can save you some misery and some cash.

I got obliterated on the G87 Facebook group for sharing my car with trackwrap lol. It's absolutely butt ugly my paint is still perfect .

No hate, a bit comical but to each their own.

I took a $950 rock chip in my miles before ppf. I wish I had gone straight to ppf but I had not decided.

Can’t really tell by the pic but that looks like a hole. PPF probably wouldn’t stop that.

It was a rock chip that had some extra plastic in it that I removed. Hopefully ppf will help in the future.

Curious on how they are repairing that. Are they filling in the rock chip or repainting the entire bumper?
