2) get laid, get a job, or chill with your single friends. you'd be surprised how much fun it is to be single. if you plan on getting laid, see step 3.

Breaking up is hard. Because you've invested so much in her that when you guys have broken up, it seems like the world just stops spinning. It's very difficult and no one likes to go through it. However, you MUST realize that there are a million other girls/things/etc. out there. That ONE girl ISN'T EVERYTHING!

The one thing you don't deserve is a stubborn gf (or ex-gf). I had an ex that was exactly like that. She NEVER admits when she's wrong. There's always an excuse but when YOU do the same thing she has a problem with it. I put up with it because I really cared about her. However, after her I vowed to never, ever go out with a stubborn girl again. I hate stupid and/or stubborn women. That kind of things would drive me insane!! In any relationship there's gotta be mutual respect, trust and understanding. If any of that is missing you're better off ending it early.

The best way to get over someone is to move on to the next. haha
You should surround yourself with friends and go do things you like to do. Volunteer your time if you're bored. Break-ups are never easy so getting over one is easier said than done but you have to try!!

i think a big part of it is because i don't have any girls that are friends. all my friends are guy friends so she doesn't even have to deal with it. i mean, she lets me go to bars and clubs by myself with my buddies, but it's not the same way with her. I'm feeling fucking horrible inside

I agree that you telling her not to see her guy friends was not a good move. However....
-she mentioned "what if we break up" multiple times. that already tells me her head/heart is not in it.
-she probably (in a way) made it so her family didn't attend your functions, because she was not that in to you and did not want to grow that family bond to someone who she would probably break up with anyway.

I know you've been through school and have a good job and are a productive member of this society. However, you are still young and inexperienced, and your ex-gf much more so. Your views and opinions will change in these next few years. Give it time, and then you'll be able to see what this relationship was and whether it can be something again. But for now at least, let it go.
