There's no reason for them to use a Tesla in that video other than to troll everyone.

They could have used the other F87 that was pictured or any other BMW they had on hand. I don't get it but I'm still holding out hope since I already have a deposit down

FYI, some of the automotive press drove camouflaged G87s in May and some of them have publicly stated that the embargo ends in mid June.

Very reminiscent of the 1M launch 12 years ago.

Chris Harris was one of the very 1st to get a drive in and give his opinion on the prototypes. That too was some time in mid 2010.

We had the Paris motor show reveal, Oktoberfest, Autosport awards in UK and Detroit motor show Jan 2011 all drip feeding various tidbits of info.

Production started in December 2010 and customer deliveries first began being received in May 2011. Canada, US and the UK in particular.

That's pretty much the exact timeline I see happening for the G87 with exception to deliveries. I believe in the US at least they will arrive sooner since they are produced in Mexico. When they revealed the M2C they changed it up from when the OG M2 was delivered. They decided to send the first cars to the US market since it was the biggest. I still believe the official reveal will not be until later this year, just like the 1M.

Yes, agreed. With the 1M, the original US/Canadian customers were Euro delivery, so collection from the Welt in May. Didn't get the cars back home for several weeks.

As you say, now it's produced in Mexico (too?) it will be slightly different.

Would be cool if us Euro customers could do US delivery!
