Correct. The base M3/4 jumped $2,700 while the M3/4 Competition models jumped $3,700 without any new features. Furthermore many options also jumped in price.
Check out the price increase thread and look at the bottom of the first post for options that also had a price increase. BMW USA Price Increase For All 2023 Model Year Vehicles & Some Options I'm worried the G87 will start close to $70k and with a few options could easily climb to $80k+. |

Price Predictions
In 2016, the M2 was $51,700 (invoice $48,065) In 2022, that would be $62,277 worth of buying power. There is going to be significantly more/better things in the G87 vs 2016 F87. In that case, $62K would be a bargain. However, that's still $62K starting price for a M2, which is a big chunk of change. Factor in some options and this is easily a $70,000. Again, that's not insignificant. And yes, we get that the M2 is the new M3 and the M3 is the new M5. Still, this is a large departure from the norm. I guess what I'm saying is that I predict the car will start at $64,250.

But with the way the economy may be heading in the near future, we may hopefully see vehicle prices return back down to earth by the end of '22 which would give me even more options for something sub $75k

Anymore than $70k with my desired options and I would probably just order a base/manual G80. Who knows… I have been bitten by the Porsche bug so if the G87 does not pan out I will probably hold tight and wait for this craziness to end. Last edited by T_U_D; 06-02-2022 at 06:35 PM.. |

Agreed with your last point. The GT4 is calling my name louder and louder each day with deafening persistence. Not gonna happen with a $30k markup as was quoted to me yesterday for a new allocation, but $5k and under and I'm doing it. We'll see what happens

Bruh, I went to cars.com, found the 3 new GT4s for sale in the country with one having actual pictures, meaning the other 2 are spoken for, at $132K, you could legit buy two G87s for the price of one GT4. I don't think its apples to apples here.

“With BMW presumably throwing in some carbon fiber upgrades, especially for a (finger crossed) M2 CS and/or CSL, we could see that number going down even further.” No need to wait for a CS or CSL. The standard M2 should lose around 50lbs by replacing the M240i steel roof and large glass moonroof with a CF top. And CF buckets will be available for another 20 lbs or so off. The standard M2 could be in the mid to high 3500s depending how much weight is added back by the widening and strengthening. The G87 will be a peach have no doubts. |

I'd guess they're older pics but still good to see.
I imagine pretty soon these cars will be done testing, no? At that point we'll probably not have anything until the reveal. |

There will be ongoing testing for a while and you'll start to see sections of the camo get dropped. There will also be more "leaks" from BMW. You have the initial demo drive reviews that will be out soon, etc. They'll milk this until it's officially revealed later this year, it's their MO.
