Yeah and this particular dealership is the only one in SFla with a reputation of not marking up (usually lol), so their list is the longest. Ironically theyll try to mark up the interest rate instead. All other dealers around here are anywhere from 10-20k over.

I secured my allocation in the Northeast part of the state to avoid the craziness.

I'm in Tampa and all 3 dealers near me have 15+ people on their list. Some are still taking a deposit though.

I'm fortunate considering I am already at the top of the list and put a deposit down in April shortly after the HEA units were delivered.

Finally got an allocation, status 111. However, my dealership is saying that the carbon package (ZJJ) isn’t available for MY24, which I know for a fact is false. Not sure how to proceed at this point. I don’t know if this is something they can sort out with the factory or if they’re missing something. Advice would be appreciated. The carbon seats are a must have for me.

Have you done a new order sheet for MY24 build with your dealership? If not, you will need to do so.

There has been some delays in MY23 and inability to order the carbon buckets, especially for early MY24 orders.

I sat down to do a new MY24 order sheet few days ago and my CA was saying he wasn’t able to option ZJJ. I’m fine waiting longer for the seats, as I don’t see myself driving it a whole lot in the midwestern winter. I would be super bummed if they’re just not available at all. He said I can either take this allocation or get bumped to the back of the line. I should also add that I need the bucket seats due to my height. I am 6’1” and fairly long waisted so I struggle to fit in both of my AMGs (I have a 2003 CL55 and a 2016 C450) without craning my neck the entire time I’m sitting in it, even with the seats all the way down. I need the carbon seats for the extra headroom I’ve seen some posters say it offers.

Yes...the MY23 order sheet does not automatically "roll over" to MY24 spec.

Why are US waiting lists much longer than UK ones? I get there's a much bigger population of people wanting to purchase in the US but when I enquired with a few dealers in the UK I was told I'd get an allocation straight away from all of them, yet some of your dealers are advising 2/3 years! This is my first time ordering a brand new M car so not sure how it works, just intrigued

Mine was in ready for transport status for 35 days. Finally got on the boat Grand Ruby yesterday. I received my allocation on march 24th.

I’ve never heard someone who is 6’1 say they’ve had a problem fitting in cars. You’re not 7 feet tall sir. You’d fit fine in either seat lol. I am also 6’1, and there is a ton of room with either seat option. The G87 also has significantly more room than my F87 did and the seating position is further back.

With that said, I only wanted the car with buckets also.. but definitely didn’t use my slightly above average height as a reason.

That still sucks and your dealer shouldn’t bump you to the BACK of the line. The option will become available for sure. When ZJJ was unavailable for me I just went back one spot in line to wait for them. They definitely should be able to do the same for you. No reason they should put everyone ahead of you.

Agreed. I asked my CA to push me back in line for a logistical issue. He did this graciously and my position is being held until this concern is resolved. I was not bumped to last place.

I was the #1 spot for two years and even after relinquishing my spot several times for clients, I remained at number one, making each and every allocation mine to decide what I wanted to do with it. Eventually I removed my name from our list.

Our latest allocation holder had been waiting since Summer 2021. With 35 individuals ahead of you it could be several years before you are notified to provide your specs.

Id try to find a smaller dealer. I found one without a line at all just last week. They've only received two allocations so far but that's got to be better than being 30th in line.

I was 13th in January and was offered an allocation in early June. For a logistical reason I requested moving back in the pecking order until an opening in the September/October timeframe. What’s another $1K?
