Man that sucks, I’m sorry. Hopefully you get out this week. There seems to be a lot more vehicle carriers at Veracruz and Altamira this week than there have been in the last 3 weeks. I don’t think they move cars to the port until the ship is actually in port.

Depends what port your car is going to. Luckily for me Brunswick has a website that lists all ships coming in for the next 15 days. I checked that against vessel finder.com listings for ships expected in port at Veracruz and Altamira. Although ship schedules seem to change. Ships that were due into a port would disappear and some I didn’t see coming would show up as in port out of the blue. The ship my car ended up on wasn’t even one that was on my radar.

Vesselfinder.com will list the ships that are due into a port, as well as ship type so you can see which ones are vehicle carriers. And of course only ships owned by companies BMW ships with will apply. Not sure what your port of exit would be, depending on where your car is shipping to.

There’s a lot of good info on ship tracking already on the forum if you search (or use Google to search Bimmerpost). BMW Blog also has a good article on how to track your build. It’s a few years old but still good info.

Once you’re in Ready for Transport you’re probably looking at around 3 weeks, (maybe more) until you’re on a ship.

Not to derail those lamenting non-movement of their eagerly anticipated hardware ... but ...

... my car arrived at my dealer at about noon today. Status had switched to 'In Transit' before 7am this morning; took the transport just 5 hours or so to get from Galveston up here to Big D. I pick her up on Saturday ... and immediately turn her over to a third party for front-to-back ceramic treatment.

Not a 'pokes fan, so ... kinda-sorta right there with you (Saints fan here; I'm a Cajun boy).

Thanks! There shall be pics ... and for reference: order placed 11/23/24, so just a tad more than 3mos from order to dealership arrival.

Yes but I was using YOU as my "F12" trick. I had gotten used to me being just 24hrs behind you. Mine now back at 25th from the 26th and the dealer called today about getting application in for PC pickup.

Just curious why ceramic and no PPF? First time for a car I am doing one or both. Thanks

Mainly to make washing easier and for the car to keep a shine and be resistant to swirling, water spots, etc. I have a condo in a building that doesn't allow on-site washing, so I'm pretty much forced to do commercial washes.

I've never done PPF; never really been interested in its benefits, though I understand why plenty are. Isn't worth the cost to me. The seams would drive my OCD side bonkers, lol.

I just did the front in PPF as well as the roof. I don’t notice any seams unless I’m inches away and even then it’s very minor. 10 year warranty on the PPF so figured at the price they gave me for it bundled with tint and ceramic it was well worth it.

I am looking at just doing to the bumper and partial or full hood only for PPF. Mostly for chips. If you don't mind me asking what did you pay for that and the ceramic ? Thank you.

Mine just skipped from Ready for Transport to In Transit, status code 195, so not sure if that means it's on the boat or already landed.

Mine went RFT on 2/10, so 16 days.

I called the genius number, and it said it got on the Liberty Carrier today and will land in Galveston on 3/2.

Edit:

I looked up the ship and it's scheduled to land tomorrow:
