I am pretty sure this is what the standard M2 seats is and will be, until the Comp, CS or LCI, unless someone could provide evidence to the contrary. BMW are not going to spend resources makes many versions of seats for an artificially low production vehicle like the M2. You either get the standard "free" seats we are disputing or you step your game up and opt for their $3,800 Carbon Buckets. That's all they are offering.. |

It makes me wonder if I should just hold out until a comp model comes out, if it even will, or just to wait until the lci. But we don't even know which versions of this car will get a manual so it's all up in the air until the official unveiling. I guess I'll just be patient until then. |

I can inform you with 100% certainty that it is the product planning team that will decide ultimately what content goes into a U.S. G87 and they tend to base that on cost as well as suspected demand. Supply constraints now play very significant role in that as well.
When the M engineer clearly stated on more than one account that the G87 will receive the ‘M Sport Seats’ from the G80/G82 that sufficed. It does not take anything additionally to produce it as it is already in production. The only change that has to be applied is the backlit ‘M3’ to an ‘M2’, the same applies to the optional carbon buckets. Anyways, the general public will know for certain come October. It just makes no sense for BMW to have their suppliers make a one-off seat for one prototype mule(just so happens to be the base manual car). They have to be going in G87 for some market(s), they look too finished in videos. Watching the videos, they look to be manual seats with electric lumbar and side bolsters(identical spec to what came in F87 non-comp in EU). These preproduction cars were EU spec with OPF and all. I see NA market getting full electric version like we did with F87 non-comp. +1 There is really no context to that answer in BMWblog video...what region or even trim level. Could the Comp get the Msport seats standard and the Base get the OG-like seats standard. If BMW wants to keep msrp close to $60k, this is one way while adding features like adaptive suspension standard. Last edited by M3WC; 06-14-2022 at 02:47 PM.. |

Those are not worse than a NA Msport 230 seats. Those are the same seats NA gets in 230 and M240. They added alcantara sections for grip, blue stitching and leather embossed upper with "M2".

Can we PLEASE stop talking about SEATS???????
GEEEEEZ....hardly a single mention of the S58, manual transmission, handling or lap times. It's just SEATS, SEATS, AND MORE SEATS from this crowd. We want the ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE...not the Ultimate Seating Machine. Move on people! Last edited by M2PDX; 06-14-2022 at 03:55 PM.. |

Seat seats seats
Based on all the information we have it would make no sense not using the seats in the M3 and M4 as this car is built on the same platform and all the othere parts are shared it would be crazy for them to spend the money developing another seats for a low production car if they did not have to tere is allot of cost in developing seats with saftey regulations. These are pre production cars that have what ever they had kicking arround at the time in inventory. Having more items in your inventory if you dont need to is costley way eayser to re use. Though realisticly who cares they are offering carbon bucks so if the options is a costly upgrade over shit seats we will all upgrade.

Just a week ago BMW had everyone panicking over the "leak" of a terrible photo making the rear of the m2 appear extremely angular.
I think they're intentionally getting everyone riled up again - this time over seats - its what they do. These are standard m240 seats with some makeshift alacantra and an m2 stamp. They could be fabricated from existing m240 seats in probably less than 60 minutes. With an official reveal in October, is it really that shocking to think they'd still have something interesting to..well…to reveal. |

Same exact wheels as the M4; 275/35/19 front and 285/30/20 rear. It's going to be putting out the same power as the F gen M2 CS 404TQ and 444HP. You want to know what it performance like right now, put on a review video of an M4 and squint your eyes until it's 4 inches smaller and Voilà, a sneak peak of the next gen M2. |
