I’ve never paid over MSRP for any car - new - RS3, Carrera T, X3MC, G80, 718 GT4, etc. I’ll happily continue to ‘get bent over’ if that’s what you’re referring to. |

All the chit chat about affording this car or affording that car is really lame IMO. Anybody with a decent FICO store, a halfway legitimate job, less than 5 DUI convictions, fewer than 5 mortgages, and a minimal down payment will undoubtedly qualify for an 84 month car loan.
Now, what’s impressive is somebody who has paid cash for his last 6 cars including 3 BMW coupes (all 3 currently on the road). I know that person quite well. |

I am very impressed by the m2... he is coming out of an m340 which was also faster than my scat pack somehow LOL... but yes I am old, and I'm having a hard time giving up my american NA v8 rear drive .. although this m2 is soooooo much fun to drive not sure my point just caught my attention with the old and son remark. people to try to race my 392 all the time... got tangled up with a tesla the other day from a guy that was at least 10 years older than me lol... and I don't race on the street but this guy was a prick and we were in mexico... needless to say he got the jump off the line as I couldn't believe he was actually going to try me... but I eventually caught up and the ICE and it's displacement eventually took over the golf cart/battery

Owned a 2023 RS3 for two years - fun cars and total sleeper. From a roll the M2 wins easily and various youtube videos prove that (400 vs 470 whp on a dyno) but the RS3 jumps off the line with launch control
If you want to win races you don't bother with a manual transmission, that is a sure way to lose |

I drove an FD RX-7 for 18 years and S2000 for years after that, I'll race you anytime in a manual trans - my point stands, modern autos are quicker, PERIOD |

Timeless lines, but it's not worth the $40k+ people are asking now for low mileage examples |

Unfortunately there are many on this forum who feel if you didn't go with a 6MT you are a puss and don't know how to drive. As you eluded to. I have driven many MTs in my life and qhen I was younger, they were the way to go. No, with the modern ATs and built to manually shift, and the need for speed, I too agree, own and happy with my 8AT (and more than willing to see what 6MT guys want to gonat it side by side). |

I did my driving test in a manual, drove stick for a decade, made the switch after one terrible afternoon that took 4.5 hours and a massive cramp in my left leg getting from one side of Seattle to the other, drove all manner of automatic since. I went with MT on this build not because I think three pedals are superior but because it's very possibly the end of an era and I want just one more. |
