I only have experience with the M sport seats in the M3 and M4 in full merino, is it noticeably different in the M2 with vernasca? I know that I didn't like how firm the vernasca leather seats were in my M340i so I looked for an M240i with sensatec and it is noticeably softer, but the merino M sport seats felt amazing in my limited time with them. Sure do miss the leather smell though.

I barely notice mine half the time, I'm constantly wondering if it is even on or is broken.

My wife has the full merino leather in her X3MC & I find her seats to be firmer & more "slippery" than the vernasca leather seats in my M2. I drive my M2 3.5-4 hours one way every Thurs & Sunday. I've driven her vehicle on the same trip, I find the M2 seats to be much more comfortable.

My only real gripe after 15k mi in my M2 is the infotainment system. Every day it acts differently, sometimes immediately connecting to my phone/music, connecting but not playing music, not connecting & telling me my device is not supported, connecting but screen going black, etc. I'd honestly just prefer a cd player.

Too funny! I recently sold my ‘01 M Roadster that requird my CD book from when I was MUCH younger. Something very nostalgic about flipping through to find the right disc, or even better…mixed disc.

These are really nit picky, and, probably nothing new. A lot of us share the same gripes.

1) I cannot believe I can't connect the "sport" display to the M buttons. BIG FUCKIN MISS BMW. I hope you're watching/reading, and can push and over the air update to fix this mistake.

2) Apparently you cannot disable certain driver assistance functions without setting up a profile both in the car and the app. I haven't done the app yet but another member reports this works. Case in point, I don't need my car to remind me to take a brake, yet I cannot permanently disable this alert without setting up these profiles.

3) There is an overall ID8 lag. Nothing drastic, again, this is nit picky. However, for example, when I'm listening to my preset stations, if I press the scroll wheel to bring up the list to change stations, it takes a two count to come up. Again, nit picky. Definitely first world problem. This one or two count lag is experienced by me throughout the system, including when speaking commands to the car.

4) Android Auto randomly disconnects and reconnects. This has happened only a handful of times, and I'm not sure who is the blame..., ID8 or AA, but about 5-6 times now, it just disconnects itself. Fortunately, it reconnects.

5) I still don't know what that stupid exhaust button does, and I see we're still debating it on the forum. It should be simply exhaust [...]
Not sure if you track it but there’s def a difference on track between comfort and sport brake pressure

(Just in case anyone cares, the OP wrecked his G87 over a year ago (deer) and doesn't own a G87 anymore, so he's unlikely to respond. This is a necro thread. Just FYI.)

If I wrecked my G87 I’d get a new G87 but with the CF roof this time lol

I ripped out the antiquated nav unit in my Z06 for an aftermarket head unit. I made sure to install one with cd

I chatted with him a bit after the wreck, I think he went for a Z4M manual.

I had to forgo that due to a sudden need to take care of a sick aging parent and I had to prioritize things for that. However, 2025 looks like I may be able to get back into something. I've been playing with M2 builds.........,

I'm sorry to hear you had to pass on the Z4M, but I'd be glad to welcome you back into the G87 club!

I agree that the fuel tank is stupidly small and please don't say weight is why. The car is a beast so an extra 3 gallons would not add significant weight.

If the car still retains a back seat, then increasing the wheelbase to accommodate the extra fuel effectively makes it an M4 (with it's extra 1.9 US gallons of fuel capacity vs the M2). Behind the axle is not really feasible to meet crash protection requirements, so effectively under the back seat is the only space for a fuel tank.

The M2 as a 2-seater with a larger fuel tank may be redundant in the product line, if people just buy a Z4 or Supra instead.

Yep, the issue is space, not weight. You could alternately reduce the volume of the trunk, but that compromises it as a DD coupe.

I think using part of the trunk would eliminate the pass-through and use space behind the back seat, as the diff, suspension and driveshafts are in the space below the trunk floor, assuming the tank has to stay out of the crush structure behind the axle from a safety perspective.

I don't understand complaining about range on a 500+ hp performance coupe : I avg close to 400 mi/tank combined interstate and city, which I think is more than sufficient. It also only costs me a little over $30 to fill up, which is also nice

How do you manage this and only $30 to fill the tank?
