I never liked him or his show - he should be charged with assault and fired.

And even if he isn't fired, the show is going to die anyway because he's clearly a 5 year-old throwing temper tantrums for attention. If he stays he'll have the "I can take a dump on camera and nobody will care" attitude ... and eventually he will.

Watching him is like a psychology 101 documentary.

Don't think for a second that the alleged fight has anything to do with this drama. Richard and/or James made public statements that no punches were thrown, and nothing worth this level of over-reaction that had been reported.

James' s contract is up for renewal, and they have been playing hardball on renewal terms ever since BBC had bought out his share of rights to the show ~2 years ago...

Top Gear and F1 are 2 of the 3 pieces of TV content that I bother DVR-ing these days. It would be unfortunate to loose it if BBC contract negotiations continue on this needlessly emotional trajectory.

Indeed, he (plus Richard and James) are the content of the show, the cars are just the backdrop. I'm sure he realizes it, and wants to monetize his value, at least fractionally similar to what Howard Stern did.

Alas, the other two guys have contracts with BBC beyond 2015, so if Clarkson walks, he will be on his own, and the show will implode ...

He was the one who tested, spun out, and advised Koenigsegg to add the larger rear wing. They resisted at first, then instantly relented as soon as they found who who advising them...
