IMO these leaked bumper pics are definitely not the G87 bumper. The center sensor in this G87 test mule pic is a totally different shape when you compare it to these leaked bumper pics. This is definitely great news because this bumper is a brutal design. There is know way i could purchase a BMW with this bumper design.

Usually with the M. It's a case of flipping the M Sport lower bumper upside down to give you a close image of the car.
I presumed M2 would be the same given how flipping gives an interesting form of aerodynamics using the triangles in reverse but using that "Fang" feature carried from the 1M to current M2.

BMW M have said and continue to say that they are pushing more brand individuality and themes for Motorsport branded models.
M3/M4 is a case in point with its horizontal bars and full length kidney Grille. These cars are so far removed from the base 3er and 4er that it amplifies that statement.
Beauty is another matter but you cannot deny that the cars look different and amplifiy an aggressive appearance than ever before.

They have after all 50 years of history to select from.

As the M series continues with far more hardcore progressive CS and CSL Models. Expect further implementation of Motorsport themes. Such as wire mesh for the inside of the Kidney Grille amongst other methods for further distinction,

I wondered if this might actually be the M2CSL front bumper, with wider openings to allow more air flow to the cool the engine.
Time will tell what this bumper belongs to, if it indeed does. 😉

Not my cup of tea - really hope the next M2 doesn’t look like that render.

I don’t know…looks similar to me. It has the same slanted black bars below the sensor. Bumper pics from China are just missing the actually sensor. The camo G87 looks to have the camo covered down to where the slanted bars turn upwards.

Maybe. It’s hard to tell the exact measurement between the two with everything being covered up on the test mule pic.Anyway i hope you are wrong. If this is the actual bumper then i won’t be purchasing the G87.The G42 bumper looks better than this crappy looking thing.

Just like the g80? Doubtful. We saw the g80 hood and grills and nobody believed it. We saw the 2 series leak and nobody believed it. “Where is my power dome?”

It’s hard to stomach but our precious brand has lost their way. Surely some people will say “this looks great I can’t wait” but cmon this is hot garbage.

All I can do at this point is chuckle and cry

Maybe the finished product will look better all put together but I don’t understand how you from the sharp angular lines of the f87 lci bumper to this boxy looking thing. If you were building a mini g8x m3 bumper this is probably how you’d represent the grills from the g80 without the size but keeping the recessed look. This is likely real. The outside of the bumper near the emblem protrudes just like the g80 bumper. The design cues are all there.

They’re going for a throw back design but it’s probably going to miss the mark.

I remember when I first saw the g80 bumper and thought it was a joke. This is getting me concerned again….very likely to be accurate

There's definitely at least one major piece(s) missing from the center section on either side of what looks to be where the active radar sensor will go.

Exactly. It's amazing how people talk out of their butts like that. Saw some clown on r/BMW saying the same nonsense yesterday.
OK so BMWs copying Porsche now?

That's pathetic

That front bumper skin exhibits zero ///m design language

But IF real then clearly BMW completely pulled this design out of their butts
Can you list what "M design language" the front bumper is missing…plz…

Ok after looking very carefully this cannot be it. The headlight lines on this f$&king ugly @ss bumper do not match the headlights of the new 2 at all. This is beyond hideous. But after the new G80 anything is possible.

I've been a BMW and M3 fanatic for the past 30 years of my life. Ever since I was 6 I had a radio control E30 M3 race car 1:12 scale.

BMW is never supposed to fuck with the M3 and they did. And now that the enthusiasts have all spoken about how lovely the M2 Competition is, they decided let's go fuck up the next M2 also.
