Been following your posts for some time. My M240xi is configured pretty much exactly like yours. Color, wheels, etc. Currently " Ready for Transport" at assembly plant. In any case, my vehicle will be arriving with the Pirelli summer performance tires. I will be replacing those with either the Michelin UHP All Seasons or the Conti DWS06+. In going with the square setup, would you then be able to rotate tires front to back, etc? I also have the 791M rims. The rear rims are a half inch wider. Would that be an issue when rotating? Like you, the roads around here are terrible, so added height works for me. Appreciate your posts.

If you're going with the square setup, all the factory rims will be the same size (8"). Only if you get staggered performance tires, are the rears changed to 8.5". Otherwise, I'm not sure how squared setups on staggered wheels work with the added completely of AWD. And yes, with a square setup, you can probably rotate the tires every few months.

245/40/19 ET25 19x9 front, 275/35/19 ET45 19x10. No rubbing at all.

I ended up getting 3mm spacers in the front, and 7mm spacers in the back.

There’s so much great information here already. Thanks to everyone who’s taken the time to post their findings thus far!
I have a question about fitment of a wheel and tire set I have in storage with next to no miles on them. It’s a staggered setup as follows:
Front- 19x8 et40, 225/40/r19

Rear- 19x8.5 et35, 255/35/r19

From what I’ve gathered from this thread, this setup seems like it should work, with the exception of the front offset. Can anyone confirm the need for spacers up front for these to fit? Thank you!

Is it the correct bolt pattern and center bore? All new G chassis cars changed from the F chassis cars.

Cool. Do you happen to know the brand of wheel they are or who makes them?

The listing didn’t specify a brand name, and was noted as “aftermarket products”.
Of all the wheels on ebay in this style, IMO, these were the least “rep” looking, and had the cutouts for the ///M stickers, and were in the price range I was in budget for. There are two sets left, I can DM you the item number. I have my set listed for sale, with the inclusion of tpms, only because this was an impulse purchase, and bla bla bla.

Thanks for the additional info. I'm still looking around at this point and not sure what I want to get quite yet.

BBS website says they don't offer wheels for the g42, would whatever they have listed for the m340i work? What are the offsets needed? I want a set of CH-R's

Speaking of colors. Anyone thinking about gold/bronze? I've been considering getting my stock 791M powder coated… 🤔

Not sure if that would clash with Brooklyn Metallic Grey and Shadowline

I've been trying to link the video, hope this works! Give you a good idea of what the fitment looks like in real time.

My 240xi should be arriving at the dealer by the third week of May. After hours of reading tire size options and tires, I've finally decided to go with 245-35-19 front and 255-35-19 rear. That gives me the .8% needed to satisfy the x drive issue, keeping me under 1%. It also give me about 3.5 inches of sidewall needed to deal with the lousy roads here. I have the 791M wheels: 8" front and 8.5" rear. I've also decided to go with the Continental DWS06+ for tires. Just think they will be a better all around fit for my driving preferences. Will be selling the original Pirelli summer performance non-run flats. About the only concern I have is the clearance with the front tires. No posts have identified any clearance issues with the setup that I'm aware of. Comments?

I went to 245/35 fronts within the first 5miles of picking up my car and have had no issue 1700miles later.

Very satisfied with the DWS06+

Well, that's what I was hoping to hear. I can get the Conti's around here for about $1100 everything included. Just need to give them about 5 days to order the 245's. Did you have any luck selling the tires off your car? I've had some luck selling on Facebook Marketplace. Will probably try there. Thanks!
