Absolute BS.

I put $1000 at my dealer for #2 allocation about 2 months ago. Will be MSRP and have it confirmed in writing.

How do you go about buying a BMW and getting it via the BMW Performance Center Delivery? Do you still have to get on a dealer's list or can you just configure on the BMW website and selecting the Driver's package? Sorry new to BMW so don't know their process.

Without getting into the actual specifics, at the time of placing your specs with your Center they will internally mark it for PCD within the system with BMW NA. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Thanks, would I still need to have an allocation through my dealer to do this?

100%.

Contrary to popular belief, PCD will have you getting your car later rather than sooner.

Yep, this has always been the case. I did PC delivery over 20 years ago just after it first started, and back then it added about 2 weeks. The car arrives at the PC about the same day it would arrive at your dealer give or take a few days, and then it falls into the scheduling of deliveries at the PC. Hence it depends on how many deliveries are scheduled versus their capacity. I'm pretty sure in modern times that can stretch a good bit further than 2 weeks.

The one thing that is likely different is if you're buying an X3 through X7 since they are made across the street from the PC...

PCD is 100% worth the extra couple week or so wait in my opinion. Especially if you're within reasonable driving distance.

I'm in NE PA and I intend on doing PCD. Will be a fun drive home up the spines of the Appalachians.
