I wish they would get rid of the vent underneath the headlight, and just give us the double lights from the M3/M4 (or any other model for that matter).

Well I do plan to keep the M2C and add the G series M2 CS to my stable. Those will be the last 2 BMWs I plan to keep forever and move on to better things and toys. Here's a decent review of the M2C for those who don't know much about the car: Some picture for the enthusiasts who appreciate this car. Enjoy!

You are all chasing that high you got as a young man watching/admiring/driving/lusting after your first bmw 3/m3/e39 M5/e38 M-Sport. Design and marketing choices don't resonate with a lot of the folk here because BMW is telling you - it's probably time for you to buy an M5. Last edited by OSee; 06-23-2022 at 12:32 PM.. |

BMW started this trend in 2008 by offering affordable, pocket-rockets to my target demographic, with advent of the 135i starting at a relatively reasonable price of 38k and they got me hooked. However, now that it's inherent successor, the G87 M2 is threatening to exceed over 65k MSRP, it's certainly not marketed to the entry-level or "boy racers" crowd anymore but more so those young at heart, with deeper pockets. As I mentioned before, had BMW no longer offer a manual option, I would not sneeze on one. I feel like my love affair with this brand has run its course and I no longer appreciate where they are headed, for various reasons. |

M5 Lol, as good as the M5CS is, I wouldn't buy one, simply too large for my needs. My G20 is the biggest car I could ever have a need for. And as times passes me by I'm realizing I maybe destined to never have a nuclear family of my own so I am already leaning towards the G42/G87.
In the G42 fora, there are members in their 70's rocking the 2'er, age doesn't define what cars we should be buying. Besides some of us (read Poochie) never grow up, he's had that handle since he was a baby.

Same stick on M performance parts, they've even made it to the M3 Touring which I saw in the flesh at Goodwood today and add no "performance" value at all. Just cosmetic. Quote:

This is not an accurate render. The back end, for instance, is slimmer than the M240i.
And the front misses a lot of what we saw in the colorful camouflaged track tests last week. And..the proportions are all out of whack. Plus, we can't even see the SEATS (kidding....lol). |

To call the M2 a 'Boy Racer' car is selling the car short and quite off the mark
The M2 is the embodiment of the essence of M, it is the one in BMW's line-up with the least amount of constraints in being a driver's car. It is (currently) the simplest and the most faithful M to the root of BMW M GmbH. The design language allows one to trace its M lineage fairly easily |

That being said, it certainly seems that the opinion that the F87 is somehow an ugly or dated looking car is likely in the extreme minority. It's nowhere near a perfect car but looks never seemed to be a point of contention whether it's regular people who see the car, enthusiasts, F87 dickriders on this forum, or any of the media reviewers. It's almost universally praised in the looks department. |

Being honest as a potential buyer here, these renders are extremely boring and the front end is yawn inducing. It doesn't look horrific like the G80/82, but it doesn't give me any sort of urge to buy it.
The F87 front end is worlds better than those renders, but the rear on the new car blows away the F87 rear. I always thought the F87 rear looked terrible/stunted and was the weak point of the car. Between the F87 and those renders however, the F87 is a better looking car. |
