Boeing. Airbuses are 100% computer controlled with the pilot having "limited" control. The computer (FMS) decides if it will do what the pilot command. Had the FMS been available for Sully, they would have crashed in Manhattan. The FMS wouldn't recognize the Hudson as a suitable landing area and would have done everything to make it back to the airport.

From a passenger standpoint I understand Airbuses are pretty nice. From a controllers standpoint they SUCK! Can't climb, can't slow and they are slow to initiate turns (gotta ask the FMS first).

As someone who's got a fair bit of time in both Boeing and Airbus as a professional pilot-- this has so many things wrong with it, I don't even know where to begin.

My son flies the A320 for a major airline and loves the airplane. I've had the pleasure of watching him make a max-effort takeoff with a full load from a 6500 foot runway and the climb angle was better than the ERJ-175 ahead of it. Also, he had no problem making a 45 degree bank to avoid multiple thunderstorms near Mexico City not long ago.

I'm sure he would disagree with you.

Did you see the Sully movie? It took the NTSB investigators something like 15 tries to get the aircraft back to the airport; and the Hudson wasn't an option. Other than that, I'm very open to instruction!

I was only speaking from my perspective. Maybe the "A" programmers are giving the pilot more control, I don't know, but I have heard pilots love them. I worked LA and we had (I'm sure nothing has changed) plenty of trouble getting those guys "out of Dodge" on hot days due to our limited airspace. It took 85 flying miles to get an A321 out of 17K'. All the Boeings were well into the flight levels (yes, similar destinations).

I will retire, but still prefer an aircraft built by one country and not three European ones.

Well nursing here in NY pays a lot more than NJ and other states. It def pays more than hygiene. However it is WAY more stressful than anything I've ever encountered as a dental hygienist. Nursing has turned me sour toward it, but maybe I need to find a diff field of it. Which I'm currently working on. Bedside nursing as a staff nurse is no joke.

Our son-in-law just got his NP and is working for Scripps in a doctor's office. He says it's MUCH better than a floor nurse at a hospital and working as an NP for CVS.

I work at a college as a janitor even though I feel like I'm smarter than most of the people who go there. Sometimes I see an equation written on a blackboard, like half an equation and... I just figure it out.

I am the second gen... Hopefully , I on the other hand don't want my kids to continue . Its hard work when the we, the bosses, works harder than the employee. LOL.

I rather have them continue my logistics company instead. They really don't need to do anything and just collect. self driven company.

Why do owners expect their employees to work harder than themselves for far less money? Especially in a small business like this where likely aren't things like equity/RSU's/stock options?

This. I flew the A320 from both seats and would take it over the 737 any day. 737 is nice too but less comfortable, louder, etc. The MAX is sweet though. The Bus will spoil anyone. It is a phenomenal airplane and I can't wait to fly it again. Just been holding out for WB.

Someone not doing their job is WAY different than an employee not working like the owner.

I know small businesses don't have those options, that's why I used that as an example. I work at a company where that is an option, so if the employees as a group help put out a better product and improve, the value of our equity does increase.

If people go above and beyond and don't get rewarded, where is the incentive to go above the minimum to keep your job?

they don't any no drive..... that is why the boss works harder than employee.. The money is there for them to grab.

maybe my business has a different model... We help our Community, by hiring new immigrants.. that do not know anything or even basis english. so for new immigrant that is a lot of money.

but

they come back tells my HR (wife) to pay less. so they can get all the Government benefits, low income housing..etc... We did the calculation. it is equal to almost $40-60 per hours. just for warehouse worker. We, the taxpayer are paying for that one way or another.
Chime in if I am wrong on this. Last I ask a homedepot warehouse employee. Their rates is $17 to $24, also base on your employment time. And do you think they have the heart into their job. Lazy as F...

Just to take a different look. Only my logistics side of business my driver makes 5 digit per month. I don't have to bitch and moan, they work hard. while the US news states we are 100,000 driver short. there is no shortage... I just say they are greedy.

end of day this will be a never ending debate. there is alway be a point of view from owner and being employee side.

I do not wish to go on with commenting this topic. To each having their own theory..

You literally ignored what I said in attempt to make some spurious point.

There are many, many people in the country who go above and beyond their job description. Take on additional duties, etc.

So if you do that, and then you aren't compensated for your extra work, why would you continue to do it?
