Been on the fence about it for a long time.
I absolutely love it for car care. Easy to use, reliable, and not too loud. There are some drawbacks though. For example, the hose running from the washer to the wand is difficult to take off and put on. So I just keep it on there at all times. It's somewhat of a pain in the ass but that's okay. Other than that, it runs flawlessly. I've used it on cleaning my driveway, worked well. Provides enough and has enough attachments to get most jobs done. I think its something like 2400 PSI so its not as strong as others. If you're looking at something to strip paint and shit, I would recommend something else. But for car care, unless you're mudding, this guy works really well.

Exactly what I needed to know thanks!

Is it true you can't just use normal fittings for it? Like it has its own size or something? Would be using it strictly for car care and I believe they sell a soap cannon for it as well.

I'm surprised by this, but given the weight and height I guess BMW decided it need to be highly damped for handling dynamics. I drove an X3M awhile back, and it didn't seem that stiff to me, but on the other hand, the roads were nice and I was used to my lowered M3 CS at the time. The X3 M40i is also on my list, but it's not that much cheaper than the X3M.

No, any fitting would work on the wand. I have a generic foam cannon I purchased off of amazon that fits right up and a Ryobi surface cleaner (the thing that looks like a disk). So it works well with all accessories.

It's this guy, they look a little different now to make it look more sleek, if that's ever a real thing.

20" wheels on the X3M will make a difference in ride compared to the 21" wheels on the Competition. There's very little sidewall w/the 21s.

That makes sense. I would not get the Comp personnally, don't need that much power. Heck, even the M40i has enough.

What?! There’s more sidewall on the 21” X3M tires than the M2

X3MC - 255/40/21 ans 265/40/21 (4.015” and 4.17”)
M2 - 275/35/19 and 285/30/20 (3.789” and 3.366”)

The rear is almost an inch taller than the M2.

No. Northern New England is not conducive to winter driving it. I drive a 328ix. Great in the snow.

I didn't say it had less than the M2, I said it had a small sidewall. The X3MC also weighs over 800 lbs more than the M2. Owning both & driving both regularly, the ride is noticeably harsher in the X3MC than the M2. Whether that is due to tire size/sidewall, spring rates, higher center of gravity, etc.

I don’t disagree with the harsher ride, but the way you phrased the sidewall size was weird especially when you were already comparing the ride to your M2 - ‘there’s very little sidewall with the 21”’. I don’t think I’ve every heard that with a 40 aspect ratio tire. I’m not sure what you were comparing to so maybe that’s where my confusion is coming from. Maybe the X3 M40? However, the X3 M40 20” front and rear sidewalls are only slightly taller than the 21” X3MC - 245/45/20 and 275/40/20 (4.34“ and 4.33“).
The point I’m trying to make is that the sidewall is contributing little to the harsh ride and it’s almost all coming from the suspension.

ground clearance continues to be the only real issue to DDing mine in lower NE. commit to fresh rear snow tires every season. there's ways to get them cheap. otherwise no problems in potentially the most difficult winter season we've had here in a decade or so

Gotcha - of every SUV I've owned this one has the smallest sidewall. I was also going off those in the F97 forum who have said the M with 20s rides better than the MC with 21s. Perhaps the suspension tuning is different between the M & MC? Looking more closing at my wife's, it's running on 295/35/21 in the rear, so that may be contributing.
